I'm in the process of having a mould made for a CF vented hood very similar to the one below.

http://ib2.toprotege.com/iB_html/uploads/post-18-23390-protege258gr.jpg

I am expecting the mould to be finished in about 2-3 weeks. They are being made by a friend of mine, who also made my current CF hood, and the quality and fitment are excellent, and can be vouched for by anyone on TOprotege.com who was in my last GB for hoods from him.

I am expecting this hood to be priced around $550 - $600 CDN. The price will be confirmed once all the details are worked out.

Here are some pics of my current CF hood just so you can get an idea of the quality.

idk the currency exchange rates and such, but how much is that in US dollars?

The hood looks awesome, especially in that red weave style. I'm subscribing to keep updated with info.

Based on $600 CDN, at the moment that would be around $510 USD.

Update...

Here is a photochop of Brian_MP5T's hood, this is basically how the hood will look more or less once it's finished. The next update should have actually pics of the finished product.

Bump.

I'm hoping to have some more details by the end of this week. Once the first hood (mine) is finished I'll definitely post a lot of pics.

.. Just now thought to ask this, but how will these vents deal with the rain? Are there coverings, or are these vents safe to have as they are and don't need any type of protection? .. Just want to make sure that there won't be any rain getting in my engine bay, y'know.

The vents are at the front of the engine bay, so the water will not drain directly on top of your engine.

Water gets into your engine bay when it rains out anyways. When your driving the water getting in will be minimal, when your parked the water will drain up front towards the header/exhaust manifold.

I've seen the fitment, finish, and overall quality of CrazyCaker's hood in person, and guys,...this is high quality. I know that it's hard to see from pictures, so I thought I would post up to vouch for the quality. I would say better than Ractive, at par with JSP.
