Went in to my dealer to drop off a cheque today. He gave me a photocopy of a fax that he received today pertaining to the MS6 in Canada. The fax was from the Product Strategies and Development Section of Mazda Canada.
In the fax Mazda stated that the exact pricing will be announced at the Montreal Auto Show in January. However, the starting price will be less than $36,000.00. The leather package option will be less than $40,000.00. The leather package includes leather seating (of course), smart card keyless entry and a moonroof. Unfortunately, the leather and moonroof go together...if you get the leather, you got to gave the f---in' moonroof. Why that is I am not sure, but talk about a great way to weaken the structural rigidity of the car!
Gettin' excited...LOL!

Remember, these are projected figures. However, they want the car to be competetive with cars like the Subaru Legacy GT which is around $37,000-38,000.

No need to compare with Canadian version, I posted US prices here (it's correct down to the hundreds):

Car prices don't translate straight across. different market values and competiton in different country's. And by the way a Subaru Legacy GT Limited prices at $41,500 CDN, so the GT MS6 will be at least $1000 cheaper.
before or after packages?

Thats what I've been saying. Mazda missed the pricing on this one big time. Thats EVO/STI/350Z/G35 money. MS6 or any of those cars?? No Way!!

Not in Canada. All those cars are $10k-$15k more than the MS6 here.

Yeah, the MSRP on the fully maxed MS6 will be less than $40,000 so it will be a bit less than a maxed out Subaru Legacy GT Ltd. I test drove the Subaru Legacy GT and was very impressed, so it will be interesting to see how the MS6 compares.
I think that the price of the MS6 will be fairly reasonable given the price of a fully loaded 6 is not too much less than the MSRP for a MS6. It will certainly be less than the STi, and we are unable to get the Evo in Canada. Moreover, it will be in a different class with respect to features and its interior. Throw in the anticipated handling and performance and and all around much better value than either the Evo or the STi, although I grant you NOT an outright race-car like the abovementioned.

Well the MS6 is a subie legacy GT sedan, with 30 more hp, and 289 lbs more curb weight. (Edmunds (not limited) sedan GT 2.5T MTX curb weight). So test drive the subbie with one of your friends in the passenger seat, and one or two in the back seats, and there's about how the MS6 feels.
