When I got replacement spindles for my '01 LX, they accidently shipped ONE of them as a five bolt, and they were identical otherwise. By the time you go through the hastle of pressing the spindle apart (which should be new bearings at the time too), you might as well get the whole spindle. Try to find them off an '02 or newer, my '01 had no drain port, so the bearings failed early. The '02 spindles I have now have no extra inner seal between the drive axle and the hub bearing, and a groove to allow any water that gets inside to drain away.

contact Corksport via the phone... they have the 5 lug upgrade, everything you need for fairly cheap... AODFan had looked into it a while back

question being, there are so many nicer rims for 4 lug than for 5x114.3 (gay)...why would you want to switch?

4 wheel disk is better forsure...and of course the rims...I want to make it into a half fast MSP clone

When I do a search on www.car-part.com under '00 Protege rear hub, I come up with interchange with 1st gen Proteges. Maybe rear disc off a '90-92 GT would be an option?

Just a thought.

good point...to the best of my knowlege everything is pretty universal on the BJ chassis...i still have to do some research....I contacted Corksport via email and was told by Derrick that it's basically just spindles (including rotors/calipers)

If my car was a 4-lug, I'd have aftermarket rims already. Aside from the obvious choice of Work wheels, and Volk, I can't find anything in a 5 lug design I want for my MSP. So I'm pretty much stuck with the stocks for who knows how long...

the lug conversion isn't the problem..its the rear brakes..drums suck..you have to replace the master cylinder and all that other crap.

from my knowledge if your swapping from drums to discs, and from talking to corksport myself in the past, youd need, spindles, hub, rotors, calipers,(other crap that goes with brakes)master cylinder and if you have drums right now you would need to switch your emergency brake line to an msp or mp5. all that is from corksport told me in the past for 5 lug conversion

from what corksport was telling me there were some models of mp5 and mp3 that didnt have ABS just lock brakes. ABS is an upgrade from base on most cars out there, i dont remember if the mp3, mp5 were standard or it was optional

OK..so i know now what is all needed...FINALLY! LOL...I've emailed Corksport back and forth and the list is as follows:

Front knuckles, calipers, sway bar end links, Rear knuckles, calipers, ebrake cables.

So now all i gotta do is find the time/money and i'm on my way :P Personally though I think I would go with the ES or MSP swap bar as well

Hope this helps someone else out too
