I was thinking about doing one, but I wanted to find out how difficult it was to do. Any info would be appreciated. :)
What the hell are you talking about?

Hmmm, I'm new to this typw of mod. Can you shed some more light on this please. The first thing that comes to mind is someone doing a flip over my trunk.:D
Something like this (http://www.sounddomain.com/id/96accordex) (scroll down a bit)?
I haven't noticed anybody doing it yet.

^^ Yeah, that pic is exactly what I'm talking about. Basically the whole trunk lid raises up not just one side of it.

I saw a picture somewhere on this forum of a member who did that. I can't remember who. I think they are in Arkansaws?

I read somewhere that it is like a couple of braces from home depot not expensive and not hard, but not sure. I believe they sell a word document on ebay of how to do it. But I am interested on how it is done too.

The trunk opens like normal, but there are pins near the front that pull out, and the back part is hinged.
So, open trunk normal way, pull pins, then lower trunk on hinges to get to where it sits in those pictures...Basically.

Don't buy the Word doc. That's silly. I found instructions on how to do it on the web when I did a search for the photo. Unless they give you the exact measurements and part numbers for your car, it's not worth paying for when you can find the same thing for free.

Hey thanks, do you have the url.
I did a search for "trunk flip mod" on Google. I didn't save the link.

Here's the instructions (http://pub51.ezboard.com/funitedescortownersboardfrm45.showMessage?topicID= 62.topic). Looks pretty easy.

Thanks, I heard it is easy.
I see no point in doing this. Infact it would be a design downgrade. Seems rather stupid to go to the trouble of this to make your trunk less uselfull.

I can understand that. It appears to be only useful for show cars. It allows you to show off your trunk as it would normally be seen (instead of showing off the ugly underside) while still showing off the subs/amps/nitrous bottle in the trunk.
It's certainly not a practical mod. However, if you use the latches or just leave the lower bracket bolts in when you're not at a show, the trunk would be normal.

I would rather spend the time making a fiberglass trunk lid cover. I have seen them with crossover, EQs and other fun stuff in them. Check out any Car audio mag and you'll see what I mean. Looks much better then a full trunk open mod and is much for functional.

what about the mod where turning the key in the trunk lights a fuse on a stick of dynamite? this one, while slightly less funtional, is certainly a show stopper not to mention an attention getter. what better way to not worry about the lid of the trunk obstructing the view of the stereo inside than to remove it entirely!!!! this mod can also custom remove other body panels too, so tweak it to your heart's desire....
sorry....its late...:)

You gave me a great idea.
Put the hinges on the rear side of the trunk then make it run by very fast actuators. Basicly you could have some get close to the trunk hit a button and WAM!. the lid smacks them upside the head. You might get sued but it be damn funny.
