I desperately need to replace my rotors and tires. My current rotors are warped pretty bad and I'm thinking of some ricey powerslot rotors. My concern is, can slotted rotors be turned or resurfaced?

Also my 2nd set of tires is already showing cords (Cooper 2XS's) and I'm looking for some nice tires with a reasonable tread life (30,000-40,000 miles) for around $400-$450. I'm really leaning toward some Kuhmo Exsctas or however the hell they're spelled.

how are powerslots "ricey"????????????????????????
to answer the question about turning....i would imagine they can't be turned unless they can be grooved again.

I have had the Kuhmo 711's on two of my cars now...both times they were put on by the previous owner. I will never own a tire make by Kuhmo again. They were not good in the rain, and they did not last more than 20K miles. When I was looking around for new tires every place that I talked to(Goodyear Gemeni, Bridgestone/Firestone, and even a local shop) told me that because of our tire size there are not tires that will last last 30-40k. I have a family friend who can get me 60% off any bridgestone/firestone tire that I want. I ordered the SO3 Pole Position for summer and some steelies with Blizzak WS-50's for the winter. I live in ohio so it is important that I get some good winter tires other wise i will be screwed when it snows.

go down to discount and get some nice yokahomas avs es100s there alot better quality then the kuhmos i think, a little bit more but it will be in your price range for how much you will be willing to spend on tires. around 500 i think...unless you have the regular stock p5 wheels then it could be a little bit cheaper.

Although for about a year it wasn't running. They seem like great tires to me. My current Cooper 2XS's are supposed to be rip offs of the Yokahama ES100's, but I guess the durability isn't there. They were 205's on stock rims. I'm thinking of going back to a 195 like the stock tires, as they seem more responsive. The amount of rain in Houston is retarded and the Coopers owned wet roads, so I'm going to miss that.

That seems like a great deal on those brembo's. Maybe I'll follow up on that once I get a little extra cash from an insurance settlement. Modded P5 here we come!

The Kumhos are a good tire FOR THE PRICE. You don't buy Kumhos because they are awesome wet/dry performers or because of their durability. I'm riding a mixed set right now, Kumho 711 on front, Dunlop 5000 on rear. Not because I designed it that way but the dealer I bought it from kind of screwed up by only replacing the fronts. Anyways, the Kumhos are good on dry pavement. I don't drive freeway that much so I can't say how good they are on a wet freeway going 70, but if it's raining you shouldn't be driving 70 anyway. But the swift unexpected downpour is something to be concerned with. The Kumhos also will not be long lasting tires by design. I believe they use a softer rubber compound which will give a good ride. But the price is so cheap for them, that people are willing to overlook some of the Kumho inadequacies. I would consider purchasing a full set of Kumhos for myself, but I probably have a different set of driving/performance requirements than you do.

I'm running Kumho Supras 712s and they are great performers. Wet and Dry, not snow, definately not. But Wet/Dry no slippage in the S curves near my house.

They seem a little soft compound though, so wear is a little more than normal tires. If you run on them hard a lot, like AutoX they won't last 10k, but for a daily driven vehicle easily 30k plus.

Yes, but not for scamming people. He's trustworthy -- I've heard of no complaints about his group buys over on the other forum.

I wouldn't call PowerSlots ricey, but I would call them a waste of money. I had some on my Prelude and they warped really quickly. I didn't notice any performance difference except for when the brakes were completely soaked (after a car wash mainly). I will only buy Brembo blanks from now on. They are cheaper and work just as well.

all it does is cool down the brakes faster, the slots and holes cool it faster. which do decrease stopping distance. but it the pads also could affect it as well. but i would think that slotted would be alot better than blank rotors. just me though.

slotted rotors create more heat.
