hey, I am really happy with my AWR front mount (rear is still not in) but when I start off some times I get this really weird bmrrrrr sounds coming from the engine bay. At first I thought I was starting off wrong and the clutch was taking some punishment, but I know now that is not the case, its some weird bvrrrrrrmmmm sounds that only happens every now and then, like the motor is trying to move but is stuck in place by the mount. of course in my 1.5hour commute home everyday from work, that means once every 5-10 starts in bumper to bumper joy. Only happens somtimes, has somthing to do with the way I release the clutch or something, do you guys get the same deal? Think the rear mount will correct this at all? Im not really upset by the noise, just need to know if i am damaging something.
Thanks for your time, Jeff (homework)

if you think its bad with just the front mount, wait till you get the rear one in, it will be a tearing sound, really loud and lots of vibrations (it made me remove my rear mount) and i donno about the damage, it won't damage any of the engine only possibly the other mounts or mounting points, but those are pretty tough so i wouldn't worry too much

ya ull get that allot in the lower rpm range...i once took a slow turn in 3rd gear, to lazy to downshift, and upon accelertation my friend said it sounded like i had 3 12 inch subs in the back. If you start of normal in 1st gear it wont happen, but if you start in 2nd gear from say a 5mph roll your going to get crazy vibration....

jeffmsp, you have A/T or M/T mounts?

wtf, i've had MT mounts for a while and the vibrations aren't nearly as bad as every makes them out to be...

I agree, the vibration isn't that bad.

i agree, its not that bad. Im talking about a weird grindy bmrooom from the engine bay that happens at times on the start off.

Great thats good to hear since im expecting the MT ones in a couple of days. I agree with previous posts that they need time to settle in but hopefully I wont experience too many odd problems. I guess you have to deal with that since your going from soft to stiff, its not gonna be an OEM ride.

they are already broken in by a guy named "Logan" Look almost new, but he says there is about 10k on them, I am pretty sure they are M/T cause he said they came off his mazdaspeed......

well, both M/T and A/T will fit the mazdaspeed. I was just asking because I'm planning to get the A/T ones, and am trying to know what to expect.

I have the AT ones front and rear. They are not too bad, just enough to remind you that you have an engine in your car. Made a great improvement in hoe the car performs on and off throttle. single best thing I've done so far.

Logan's are MT. That sound is normal, you're just hearing/feeling the engine more now.

is the only difference between the AT and MT the stiffness? The AT will fit the same as the MT right?

Thats exactly what I'm going to do, A/T front and rear. Good to hear it's not too bad. Did you install both at once, or do one and let it settle before doing the other?

HOw bout a bussing inside the cabin at higher rpms under WOT? I just install the Front M/T version and i love it, but when I get on it in the higher RPM's it makes a buzzzzzzzzzzzz unti l I shift. I'm used to it, b/c my dsm had full poly mounts so I know what a real harsh vibration is like (it was a seat massager at a stop light), but I just wanted to know if anyone else expereicne this buzzzzz in relation to the rpms.

definately, my mounts gave more of a sound inrease then my aem intake, the car sounds mean now, and at idle it feels like you are in an old mustang lol

jeff, not completly sure of what your describing but I think I have encountered what your talking about. The last three days if I give it good throttle out of third and fourth out of boost every once in a while the car will make a noice like that. Feels and sounds like I just ran over a million little speed bumps. I'm stumped. Car is stock exept for a boost controller which is pretty much off and a drop in filter. And I got a lil over 30k on the speed. Could the clutch be going?

Maybe it's just normal vibrations that the engine has, and is amplified by the stiffer mounts? I obviously don't have the mounts, but am just throwing that out there. Could explain why mazda left such soft mounts in, to hide the vibrations.

Mounts giving a sound increase? Old mustang?
Have you driven an old mustang? I'm sorry but when people say things like that, I have to wonder what the hell they did differently that I did. The *only* time my car vibrates is if there is a load on the engine at a very low (near-stall) rpm such as in first and in reverse. Idling is the exact same as before, with the only difference being if I manually make it idle at 900-1000rpm and I get a very *faint* vibration in the cabin.
The only reason I'm asking this is when I was debating on getting mounts, everyone was like "OMG MY CAR IS FALLING APART HELP ME!@$!#" and I was intimidated from it. After installing, I'm wondering what in the hell those people are doing or did to make it that bad.
An old mustang? My mounts are no where NEAR an old mustang.

it must be because you adjusted your idle, at my current idle rpm 700ish the shifter shakes hard, my 3" exhaust is burbling and the windows even rattle at times. How did you adjust your idle, I know I can just adjust the throttle cable a bit, but i am sure there is a more "refined" way.
Have you driven an old mustang?
whoa,Settle down Tease,Yes I have. I have driven my neighbors fully restored 68 mustang several times and my buddys 89GT I am in at least once a week,so I know the feeling, but on a stock msp im sure it would not be the same (see sig for mods)

i have had front and rear MT mounts in for over a year now. When driving the car they are awesome, in stop and go traffic and idiing they can be annoying. Also when the weather is cold, the interior likes to rattle :/
