so what i'm getting from you folks is that everyone in california's cars are all stock? anybody from california have any suggestions? would it just be easiest to swap in the stock exhaust when i get tested?

yes swap the stock when u get tested. as u can see in my sig i got my exhuast done from the s pipe to the axle back 2.5 inch with high flow cat. now that illegal for cali cuz ur supposed to leave the cats stock, but the cops dont care cuz mine isnt that loud and doesnt smell THAT bad compared to the catless. and if they pull me over they see a cat atleast. for the smog test im gonna swap it with the stock system thats chilling under my bed .

Yup, you want to mod cars in CA you gotta get used to swapping parts come smog time.
Thats just how it is unless you have hook up but those are hard to find nowa days.
