alright. i wanted to tap into one of the ecu wires, instead of going through the firewall to the o2 sensor, so i tapped into the pink with blue stripe like the how-to said, and something's up. the gauge does light up, as if it were going to work, but it doesnt measure the a/f ratio, it just sits with a couple lights on. but what is really wierd is that the lights only come on when my car is in gear, any gear. this leads me to believe that that particular wire i tapped is not the right one. what's going on???

the wire in the engine bay is a blue wire
maybe it was supposed to be a blue wire with a pink stripe?
if you do a search someone posted all the pinouts of the ecu, that should help you

going into the engine bay isnt really any work at all, you might find that it's much easier that way. I just spliced into the wire from the 1st o2 sensor and got it, running through the firewall only takes a coathanger and some electrical tape. give it a try!

But which wire is it? I was trying this earlier and had to wait on the gauges til I got more time/info. The 02 sensor has 4 wires comming out of it, which ones do we use?

What did you use to tap the wire ... the pink / blue wire is correct ... mine uses it. If you are using scotch locks make sure its the correct size for the gauge of the wire you are using, or you will not get a good connection. Also if it is just sitting there with only 1 or 2 lights on and nothing happening, you definally need to check your grounding wires. That could be a serious problem.

yea im thinking you grounding it, because the wire is covered in a ground shield by the ecu you need to pull it away...
