does anybody know if i can use a hks turbo timer type 1 on the mazdaspeed protege? if not which one would you reconmend

You should be able to use one on any car; Weather or not it has the direct plug in harness, I couldn't say; I've got a Type 1 in my WRX, and it works pretty damn well. =) You'll probably need the universal harness to install it, though, and splice into the ignition lines behind/under the dash.

They are all the same, A relay that keeps the ignition on for a period of time... Should work. If you are not sure, have someone who knows what to do help or install it.

ive seen the greddy tt hks type 0 and 1 on msps so im sure itll work

Yes it works. I have the Type 1 US Spec on mine.
