We finished the Z06 yesterday and began finalizing the MSP downpipe. The idea was to have it to mate up to the stock flange, however the flange that the factory uses is a CNC machined crush gasket type. All the flanges we use come from a water jetter, this makes it impossible to seal. Now I can have CNC flanges made but we would need to pre order somewhere around 500 and continue to order them in batches of 500, this really doesnt make sense for us to do.

Now heres where you come in. The options we have are having our flange water jetted and including a second one that you can have welded on. Or we have OEM clamps that can be reduced to squeeze any diameter pipe. We can offer swedged reducers etc. This will require you to just have your flange cut off and thats it. Let us know what you want us to do and we can do it.

The last question I have is, on your aftermarket catback systems, what does the flange look like? Does it have an inner ring? Or is it flat faced like a regular flange?

Hmm if you can give me a better idea of exactly which flanged your dp will mate up to I can more than likely help you out. From reading that it sounds like your dp will connect to the flange directly before the resonator, eliminating the cat section. We deal alot with Wagner Exhaust and do a lot of laser cutting, so more than likely we've run across the flanges you would need. I'm happy to finally see someone actually producing a dp so I'll help out however I can...

What does the flange on your greddy look like. Is it flat faced or is there a recess?

the Greddy flange flat faced. It bolted up fine to the stock DP. Some people use an aftermarket J/Midpipe (from Apex) on the stock catback, and just used a gasket provided with no problems, I'm assuming. All you'd have to do it make it flat faced and it will work, since all the other DPs that came out have done so, if thats what you're referring to.

I see what you were talking about. Ive got all of your pricing ready, just need to figure out this flange bit.

If any of you remember when you recieved your catback, or mid section, did the flange have any sort of recess in it around the pipe portion on the side that mates to the other flange?

Nope. just a flat flange was all thats needed, and an exhaust gasket that was supplied by GReddy. All you need is a flat flange, no recess.

Sweet. When do you think you'd have a finished DP and pics up?

Any updates on this? Curious as to the resolution of mating this up to the stock exhaust (until I can afford the rest of your exhaust). I sent GHL an email, but thought I would post here and see if anyone had any additional information.
