hey all,
Its me again. I was wondering if there are any mazda dealers like southwester to mid CT that accept modified cars and wont void the warrenty. Simple mods of coarse because the dealership where I got my car from was a mess and i stopped going to their service depot. and the one in the enxt town over, Stamford, from me will only allow mazdaspeed parts or else it voids the warrenty. Ive heard that it all depends on the dealer you go to on mods and i was wondering which on you guys go to. Thanks for the help yet again.

not down in your part of the state. Morande service in manchester isvery good and I tihnk they are good enough that they will only voide your warranty if appropriate IE if your mods CAUSED the problem.
One of the NEPOC members is in sales at Tony March in hartford and he says they will install and warranty installed mods..

They can't legally void ALL of your warranty if you mod just one part of your car. I really haven't done or had the chance to do any warranty work other than a TSB and changing headlight bulbs so I don't know who is the best. I just know that Stamford is, in general a more expensive dealer and the Derby dealer pissed me off when they lied and tried to get out of ordering a part to complete my TSB.
Milford has been pretty cool and they have some knowledgeable and nice guys working there.

Dude....Come see me. My service Dept. rocks...they don't give a shit about mods and really know what they are doing. Tony March Auto off 91 (ex33). But come see me first in the sales building so I can bring you down and introduce you as my friend....that helps even more!!! (naughty) But seriously, I could not ask for a better service dept...they go above and beyond.

I hear you on this dealer thing. Stamford Mazda wanted over $300 for just a stock MP3 front bumper, and their "parts tech" wouldn't know an alternator from a turbo. Dworkin Mazda/Chevy/Suzuki is the WORST Mazda dealership in the state. To me Modern Motors Mazda in Thomaston is well worth the drive. The parts guys there have been there since the beginning of time, so you have to be a little patient with them, but the prices are rights, and that dealership has a great reputation. (I only know about all these dealerships b/c I live in Ansonia, Thomaston/Northfield, and now Newtown, and work in Stamford.)

Modern Motors, eh? That's in my town, I've only been there to order a missing part for my roof rack though. The dodge part of the dealership gave us bad service in the past so I've been putting off getting down there to fix a few TSB-related issues I'm having. Too bad I have to leave CT tomorrow, I guess I'll try the Mazda/Porsche dealership up in NY, I would expect that their service department would be good :)

I agree, the Stamford "parts tech" woman is extremely stupid and needs a new haircut (the femullet's gotta go).
fyi, I used to live in Trumbull and work in Stamford. Now I live in Stamford and work 5 blocks away :D

Bastard! I live in Newtown, and work down here. I must admit, it's a much better drive then the Thomsaton -> Stamford commute, but Newtown -> Stamford is not all that fun either.
Never actually me the "parts-tech" she-man, but talked to her on the phone and she's dumb as a stump.

i live in bethel and have had a only a couple dealership encounters but dworkin took care of us pretty good...probably because my family gets around 5 new cars from them every 2 years...but colonial mazda in danbury was pretty good when i dealt with them...got parts there once and that's where it was brought when i broke my shift forks...only had a few basic things done to my car, but they didnt say anything and it was all under warrenty.

yeah the stamford "parts tech" was stupid when i got my 15K service there. pretty much it ended up being that i knew more then her about mazdaspeed and the upcomming line up. i knew more about the upcomming mazdaspeed mazda6 then she did. knew more about the mazdaspeed parts as well. yeah she just seemed dumb, told me doing anything to the car would void the warrenty even cosmetic parts as well. she tried to discourage me from going aftermarket and recomended i go mazdapseed route and that she would have the mazdaspeed catalogue for the protege5's soon. this was back around september or october. i bet you they still dont have the mazdaspeed catalogues. oh well they lost my service, too bad there are not any mazda dealers near me that are good.

I second Commies nomination, Tony March service is seriously a tuner garage that pays its bills by changing the oil on minivans, these guys are sick...
T-ston to Stamford huh, that blows as much as Avon to Norwalk...
I bought my car at Modern Mazda Dodge in Thomaston, Connecticut. They aren't really based around the tuner culture as say Tony March (I gotta get down there) but for standard service they are one of the best. I was there last week. They have one hot new RX8 Shinka in the showroom that is begging to be driven..I think it's time for a test drive.

last time in went in for a service at TM, the manager spent like an hour showing me all the badass tuner vids on his computer, nasty evos and some crazy japan racing stuff...He also showed me the new turbo, intake, exhaust setup he was dropping in his focus, absolutely retarded (the good retarded)...I guess this guy was part of a racing garage or something down south and still races every once in a while in NY...
Having worked there, Commie probably has a better idea about these guys though. sound about right to you man?

i bought my p5 at partyka mazda in hamden and its a geat shop for most things like tune-ups and oil changes. they even fixed the same stupid problem i had with the intake manifold 4 times but last summer i brought the car in because it was clicking in forth gear and they put it up on the racks and they came back and said it was my neons rattling on the front fascia. i brought it the 25 miles home and took off all my neons and brought it back because it was still rattling and after 3 hours of sitting in the lounge they came back and said i needed a new transmission. a week later my car was fixed.
now i just want to upgrade into somethign that doesnt have the problems i have had with my p5

It's the sad realization I've had. Both of my cars so far have been Mazdas, and I'd really like to continue that. I love the "zoom zoom" mentality, I love the way my car drives, and so far my car hasn't ever been to the dealership for any problems. I just wish I had a known bulletproof engine so I could make this damn thing fast. Maybe I'll get an FD RX7, I could deal with having a much older car if it was that.
To stay a bit on topic, I might be going to Modern Motors Mazda in Thomaston (where I live) to get the A/C in the car fixed. It's doing that known problem where the A/C light flickers and the air doesn't get cold on certain fan positions. I hope they don't notice my mods :P :P
