i have a 93 1.8l sohc w/ 194000 on it and the vavle train is get loud. what can i do to fix the problem? it taps loud when cold outside. please help me!!!!!!!!!\

You could use thicker oil.

Or you could use a engine flush to clean out the lifters.
Also I read somewhere that you can put some transmission fluid in the engine right before you change the oil and let the car run (not drive it) and then drain the oil...

That was supposed to clean out the lifters.

Seafoam!

Put that a day or two before your next oil change.. put some in your crankcase and put some in your gas tank as well.. that rid of the tapping for me

and then when u put in new oil put some oil stabilizer like lucas in.

is your car an Automatic??

if so we have like the same car.. i think mine is at about 180 in miles..

question: did u ever have a problem with a rough idle at when you were stopped and had the brake down all the way?? if so how did u rid of it?
