So i got my speed today and the shift knob has a rubber grip around it that is loose and slipping off the knob. I think its the stock one? Would this be covered under warrenty???

Definitely if you're under 12k miles. If over 12k, then it depends on how good of a complainer you are.

I am pretty sure they have stopped making them. You can try.

i bought the car with 15k on it. I will ask... I guess our dealership is pretty cool with mods etc.. My exhaust muffler is cracked too, I should still be able to get the revised model even though its over 12K?

Just take the knob to an upholstery shop and have them make a new leather piece. It will probably last longer than the OEM one. I just pulled mine off, as I got tired of it spinning around.

The original style was not mass produced, you will be hard-pressed to find an exact replacement or have it replaced by the dealer.

Just get an aftermarket knob....unless you are in love with the stock knob. Mine was the first thing gone. Manny like the Greddy / Trust counterweight knobs , they are threaded. I still have my stock knob....never thought about selling it until now. Might go on Ebay.

I got mine replaced under warranty at about 18k miles(?). Mine was a 2003, but they gave me a 2003.5. Of course, I've had my car in for a number of problems, so they might have just felt bad for me.

Thanks, please let me know. Mine is just barely starting to get loose where my thumb grabs on to the shifter, but I know it's just a matter of time before it goes bad. I'd like to buy yours because I want to keep mine on until it starts to really look like crap. Then I'll either put on the one I by from you(if you sell it to me for a good deal) or take it to the dealer to see about replacing it and then keep the one I by from you for later.
