for real ...
i think you should drive the car around for a while just to get a true 'stock' feeling. i think you'll appreciate the mods more once they're on.

I agree entirely. If you put the mods on right away, you'll just wanna upgrade even more and not really appreciate them.
take a deep breath or the excitement WILL kill you

What are you guys talking about?! The car is going to be stock ALL of tommorow afternoon!!! (naughty)
But in all seriousness, my FMIC core was bent so cullen is getting me a fresh one, and all of the mods i have in my room right now arent performance enhancing (tt, short shifter, motor mounts etc).
I plan on leaving the car stock for a little over a week while I clean up and redetail the entire interior and exterior, paint the calipers gloss black (idiot owner painted them yellow) and get the dealer debaging off and the gay injen decal off...
I've got a lot to do before I can even consider taking a sawsall to my front bumper support!!!

Make sure you space your mods out for enough time that you can enjoy each and every modification done to the car, if you install everything too fast, you will easily become bored with the car.

I can vouge for this.....I got bored for a quick minute, then got over it. Now I love the car. Once you get compliments from people and stares as you drive....you remember that your car is pretty sweet, or at least more than most other cars on the road. Then again people here in Toledo don't see many of my car, let alone one that doesn't quite look stock. Just makes ya feel good....or maybe its just me. Good luck man, you will love it.....but don't go too quick. It is hard though.....especially with everything sitting around.

Also, if you install about everything at the same time and you get an engine problem afterwards, it will be harder to pinpoint the exact cause. Better do it one at the time and be sure everything is ok before doing the next mod.

I can imagine after putting all that crap in and you start stalling, you'll be thinking "shit, where's that coming from?!". Oh, but good luck, you're going to love it!

If you think the suffering is bad now...wait until AFTER you have had it and have to drive some crappy rental while it's getting fixed. Talk about fuckin' hell....drive a '01 Cavalier for a couple days!!! Anyone ever notice that the only time you run into ex-girlfriends is when you don't have the speed and are driving the shitty rental? Or the only time you drive by some hot girl in a protege is when you are pimpin' the '98 neon? *sigh*

Wow... I got the car and well... WOW. I have only put 7 miles on it. I promised myself I would finish this calc. before I went for a nighttime drive. The roads are shitty, b/c its misting so I cant drive hard but I just cant get enough of this damn thing.
I have never driven anything with such a damn solid chassis, tight responsive handling... I am going to take the car in this weekend to get it flashed, get my muffler replaced (its cracking) and my shift knob replaced (the rubber is loose) and then start cleaning it up.
I have allready went outside 4x's in the last hour just to walk around the car and stare. If it were warmer and not raining I would take a chair out in the parking lot and just sit and stare at it.
But now that I have a turbo car... i Have this uncanny need for more boost. Is this a normal fixation?? ;)

But now that I have a turbo car... i Have this uncanny need for more boost. Is this a normal fixation?? ;)Excessive boost craving is normal after attaining a turbo car. An increase in overly-assertive driving (asshole driving) is normal as well. The boost fixation/addiction can be amplified even further with the addition of intake/turbo toys....as wierd turbo noises are fun to make all the live-long day. In order to satisfy my boost crave, me and some Mazda techs are working on creating boost in smokable form. You should try it maaaaaaan.

You might wanna hold off on the flash, if you're upping the boost. Also, get a baseline dyno of the car stock and one after the mods. You can see the hp gain from the mods.
