What do you mean by what is there for the MSP? There are plenty of Mazda and 3rd party JDM parts that can be added to a 3rd gen. Protege. But, there aren't really any JDM specific parts for the MSP since it was a NA only model.

Gotcha,
As for true JDM there are some interior pieces like the rear cup holders, the floor lights, the "tissue" box, the rear view mirror cover and a few others.
Under the hood there are things like the MazdaSpeed radiator cap and oil cap. Plus all kind of AutoExe goodies that will cost an arm and a leg like their throttle body and hood dampers.
You can always order Familia badging. Probably best to do it up like the MazdaSpeed Familia of 2001 (basically like the MP3 in appearance). For that you'll need the Familia badge as well as the polished "flying M" and Mazda (note I said Mazda, not MazdaSpeed) logo.
Then there's always the body pieces like AutoExe or Mintblue grills, lips, and kits.
Oh and of course performance parts from Tein, JIC, GReddy, HKS, Cusco, etc. It's a seemingly never ending list. Which sucks cause none of these parts are really cheap. Which sucks even more for me because I've gotten to the point that I don't like to put parts on my car that aren't at the very least made by a Japanese company, if not actualy made in Japan. (Ignore my sig. Most of those parts are gone or going. lol.)
I don't say that to sound like a snob. It's just part of the danger of getting into the whole JDM thing. Like many other hobbies it can become addictive.

but the Protege was a Familia in Japan.. not a 323... so why put a 323 badge on it?
and the true JDM parts that Mazdaspeed of japan produced for the Mazdaspeed familia A-SPEC were the MP3 wing (03 MSP wing) and a small black aero lip that went under the MP3 (03 MSP) front bumper.
then the other parts were a mazdaspeed 7 spoke wheel made by Rays engenieering, a coilover set, air filter, headers (cause it was not a turbo), exhaust system, higher PSI radiator cap and new thermostat.

Yanno, I've been thinking about converting to a JDM freak. However, since the car was produced only in NA, that fact alone makes me think twice.
Something about JDM'ing a stictly NA-market car just doesn't sit with me well.
Gratned, we are 3rd gen Proteges; nothing more, nothing less. But the MS part brings the JDM idea to a halt for me.

well remember... even though the car was made for NA.. the car is pretty JDM as it sits stock.
MAzdaspeed DID make all the parts on both the 03 and 03.5. and it was assembled over in Japans mazdaspeed plant.
so really if you wanted a mazdaspeed outfitted with JDM parts.. it fits that bill perfectly as we bought it =)
even though it was not a true JDM car.

mmmh yes it was.. thats why the 03.5 came out.. the guys at Mazda speed found out they were putting Turbos in them.. and so they made the 03.5 aero kit to provide better aerodynamics for the higher horsepower motors.
the wheels were also an american add on. as were the sparco inside treatments... thats why it changed to Mazdaspeed on the 3.5.. cause Mazda would rather have their own tuning stuff in it =)
when i talked to my firiend who has a family member who works for Mazdaspeed Jpn.. he said they werent very happy about the turbo thing. hehe

Mazda should have at least been nice enough to let them tune it :)

well mazdaspeed jpn doesent really do to much in the ares of tuning.. they are more aerodynamics, and handling.(almost a quote.. Mazdaspeed takes power and finesses it to be true road course advasary) they have some tuning parts.. like air filter elements, headers, and smaller bolt on stuff. but in exception to the Mazdaspeed RX-7 C-Spec did they never really do any hard core tuning.
except of course in their racing division. =)
