Trick 2nd gear [Archive]

I don't know what's up with my tranny, if it is going out or what. Sometimes when I shift from 1st to 2nd, it is really hard to put it in 2nd. I gotta cram it in there, or move to neutral and go back to 2nd. Anyone got advice or the same problem?

yea mine sometimes makes a crunch feel into 2nd but mainly into 3rd it pisses me off. :mad:

my tranny totally went out one day...it always sounded funny when i put it in 3rd and it was really hard to get in to. then one nite i was riding...and went to change gears and my car just sounded like the tranny fell on the ground...then it wouldn't go into any gear and i was coasting...the tranny blew or whatever and thank god i was still under warranty. the mazda dealership didn't know what happened to it...one dude was posed to take it apart to find out. i had to wait for 2 months to get it put in. its made in japan and the first one sent got lost in shipping and the second one came like 3 weeks later. so i feel for whoever has to go through what i did.......

yeah i have the clutch all the way to the floor...i donno its wierd. I kind of hope that my tranny goes out if its going to, so it would at least stop skrewing with me.

Mine grinds BAD going into third, and rarely likes to let me down shift if I'm not under 20MPH. Makes it tough to downshift into first in a tight autoX course, so I just don't anymore.
I've never driven a car with such a bad engine hop or rough transmission, and I've been in manuals for over 14 years now. I love the car but I really wish there were STOCK and WARRANTIED parts or fixes available.
