Won't be an option on the 06's. The speed is built in Japan, thats why it gets nav and HID's. Blame the US unions, they prevent HID's and NAV from being installed in the states. Thus only Japan built mazda's get them right now.

the plant here doesn't have the technology to instal navi and hids so unless it's imported like rx-8 and 3...you loose out. Makes no scence to give the scc navi and hids and not the sport luxury car....

Yes you have to go aftermarket.

I don't understand the whole union thing myself...but it has something to do with the workers wanted to be compensated for installing certain types of parts "additionally" over standard equipment. Thus as part of the compromise, they don't do HID's and Nav...so only Japan Manufacturered Mazda's get them for now. In 07 though (for the refresh) US mazda's are supposed to get them.

I know nothing about this place. But any google search will turn up hits. It has become illegeal this year to install these kits on cars in the US. You may want to investigate the legalities before you proceed.

Sup guys...i just got my Mazda6s about two months ago and i just recently bought some Piaas to replace my stock headlights. However i hab one problem. How are u supposed to replace them w/ so little space under da hood? Is there some easier way to install w/o having to break some bones in my hands?

Howdy CrzyGOsu. You'll get pretty good at squeezing your hand in there. Good choice with the PIAAs. So far, they've showed the most longevity on the 6s. You may want to go over this article. The same teqniques, etc, should apply for the entire housing.

my lowbeams eurodesizns 6k blue lifetime warrenty. next to a stock 6 they look real hid till hids are present. my turns pepboys titanium ambers so there is no orange reflection till i turn them on. no fogs :( 194 are tinted as well(dumb idea replacing wit leds) hi beams stock. soon to have hids to replace lo beams

just get a socket wrench with metric 10 or 15... it's either or... cant remember off the top of my head right now... just undo the 3 bolts holding the coolent reservoir and swing it out of the way.... then you'll have more room to get to the passenger side headlights. you can also take out the airbox to get better room for the driverside... just be sure to remember to plug back anything you unplugged...

Crazy... the headlights on the 6 are projectors so they work well if you drop in HIDs into them...

Hids and Xenon lights are the same. Or more accuratly, Xenon lights fall under the range of High Intensity Discharge lights. Instead of a filiment, like used in normal halogens, Xenon lights produce an Arc of electricity. This arc passes through a tube that is filled with Xenon gas and metallic salts. Think of it as a constant camera flash.

"Fake hids", which I believe would encompass PIAA and Sylvania bulbs, still use Xenon gasses to produce the bighter lights, but (and I think..) still use a filimant and normal housing unit. This way you can have the appearance of HIDs without the same projection setup.

Nice...i got mine recently for around 50 bux as a b-day present...but hey peepz once u buy the fake HID do you just simply take out the old bulb in the H1 compartment to the far right and left and replace it with the new ones? nothing else ish required right? just unscrew da cap, unplug the bulb in the back, take out the bulb and metal backing it is fixed into, put in the new one, plug back in, screw cap back on, and sexyass new lights rigth? uhm

Ya...just make sure their 55 watt bulbs. Alotta the fake HID bulbs are 100 or 110 watt...and they'll fry your headlight harness, causing you quite a massive repair (out of warranty).

hahah i juss checked if da ones i ordered were 55watts nd indeed dey are...sum weird advertising ... what the PIAA advertisement stated was that H1 bulb + 55W = 100W power or something similar to that....lol ahhaha PIAA says that their bulbs create a brighter glow with a decrease in heat.....hmmm iono about that lol i still say they'll heat up quite a lot ..still fake HIDs lol (flame)

Sup fella's,
Pro5 and I just installed an 8k HID conversion kit into my 6. There where a few issues regarding the fit of the ballast and starter. So we took off the front bumper, and took off the headlight, then put the ballast under the headlight and the starters by the windshield washer resovoir and above the trans cooler on the driver side. Overall, install wasn't to hard. But the result, (shocked) !
As far as alignment, there were no adjustments needed to be made to the projection, it went perfect.

I also changed to fogs to Piaa Xtreme White Fog H3s. However, I really don't like the look of it because it doesn't match the HIDs. So I drive with it off now. Next project is to change the 194 in the high beam assembly to LED so it glows white. I'll get the pictures up ASAP.
