I tried to follow these directions (at 1 am) and succeeded in making the alarm system go off, repeatedly, every time I tried to remove the key from the ignition. Didn't have any luck reprogramming the remote. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow in the middle of a very large parking lot. :) If you have any additional hints / suggestions, I'll be glad to try them, before having to return to the dealer.
