well I took my 03 5 in to the dealership last week for some erratic idle and clunking noise from inside the head.....
took them a week to figure out that the pistons were damaged, and they still dont konw what is rattling around in the head
service mgr says i need a new motor.........hopefully they'll cover it under warrenty
we'll see

Might be one of the VTCS or VICS screws. I think that's happened before.

i'm not too worried about it not being covered.....the only mod I had done to the motor was the AEM CAI and that was removed before the dealer saw it.....
the noise def sounded like there was a screw or something bouncin around in the head

I'll bet it was one of the VTCS/VICS screws.

I suppose you will now dress up in a Zorro costume and go on a personal vendetta against Mazda.
No matter how you try and spin it, fraud is fraud.
