I've noticed on a few occasions that the coolant level in the resevoir is often below the L line. I've only looked at it with the engine shut off so far. If I check it after the car has been running and the engine is still hot, it's somewhere between the L and the F line. But if I check it when the engine is cold, it is well below the L line.
Is this normal? I thought it never supposed to go below L with the engine cold, hot, on or off. (huh)

Very interesting, i would like to know the answer to that one myself just for knowledge. I would say it is normal that there needs to be room for expansion of the coolant when the car heats up, but i have no real idea.

I also thought the same thing turned out I had a spilt hose near the turbo that was causing all the problems.

I called the dealer and asked them. They said it is normal because the coolant seeps back into the internal engine parts when the car is shut off for a while. The coolant level should always be between the L and F line when the engine is hot though.
yeah dealership overfilled mine...also stock uses deathcool
