hatch measurements

hey all i'm buyin a p5 in a few months and was wonderin if someone could tell me the measurements of the hatch area in the back, i'm tryin 2 fit a sub box back there.... thanx

I can't give measurements but I know it's big enough to suck up a whole dresser with the seats folded down... I think you'll have plenty of room for a sub box.

Measurements across the backseats, under the floor or in the corners?
And which P5 are you planning to get? The 2003.5 comes stock w/ a little 5" sub in the spare tire under the carpet.

I can get some measurements if you want. Also, if you look around, a bunch of people have put various types of sub boxes in the P5s and have pics of how they look.

i'm plannin on gettin an 03 i'd like the measurements of the

-width across the hatch
-the depth from gate to rear seat
-the height of floor to headrest of rear seat

well u can fit almost any big ol sub box back there. Especially the premade ones.

well... if it helps, i currently have a kicker 15" solo beric L7 in my hatch. box is friggin huge and weighs a ton...

37"wide, 31" from seat at floor to the back of the hatch, 18"deep (but this is with the stock sub of an 03.5 removed) there's a false floor from the factory on the 03.5 models with a cargo tray that raises everything about 2" leaving you much less room. YOU can remove it, but it's kinda a pain. Really easy to findout, go to the hatch and look at the spare tire, if there's a litte sub in there it's an 03.5. Also outwardly, alot of 03.5's didn't come with roofrack rails.

Yeah, I just did the measurements today and got the same, only about 21" from the floor to the hatch cover on the '03. If you plan to take the hatch cover off, you get a little more height.

hey is that 37"wide from the plastic coverin the wheel wells to other side? can those be removed and would that give me ne xtra space?? my main reason is cuz i have a huge custom sub box unfortunately its 38" wide jus an inch 2 big... i built it 4 my explorer but am plannin on buyin the Pro5 in a few months and don't really want 2 have 2 rebuild a new box if i don have 2... thanx

that's 37"wide at teh narropwest between the wheelwells, there is, however a small little nub that sticks out on each side about a couple inches tall and a couple into the area that most likely wouldn't be in the way anyway. as it is at the very front right under the seatback.

My depth measurement is measuring form the lowest part of the cover that hangs down. If you put a taller box than that in there, the front part of the cover will be forced up and also rattle on the box.
