View Full Version : GI: Pipe Between Turbo and Downpipe

I 'm not sure what it's called. but I am gauging interest for people who have a DP and would like to have a larger diameter pipe that goes between the turbo and the downpipe. This would really open up the turbo for faster spooling. The only place I have seen this available from is ION, but I dont think they offer it individually. You have to buy their full exhaust system. Anyway, a local shop hwere is going to fabricate one for me. (The same company that built my CAI, Dynotex.) The pipe would be either 2.5" or 3", stainless steel, and good quality. Price would be "no more than $200", depending on how hard it is to fabricate. This would allow you to really take advantage of the power gains from your dp and exhaust. I am not selling these. I am having one made and just thought I'd share the opportunity with everyone else.

Is this an "s pipe?"

the pipe that is on the car now is an s-pipe, but it would be good to have a final product that's not an s-shape to have the greatest gains.
i'd be up for it if there was one being produced for "no more than 200".

I'd be interested in a 3" one.
Let us know what they come up with and post pics when you get it.

If you're talking about replacing the pipe with "Callaway" stamped on it, then yes it's the S-pipe.
Didn't Hi-Boost make one? I could have sworn i remembered seeing one with "Hi-Boost" stamped on it.

Hey people, how many times have we seen a post like this (shrug)
That guy terbow sounded like he really had something to but so far nothing. I wouldn't get your hopes up. Sorry to be the pessimist.<TABLE style="WIDTH: 141pt; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=188 border=0 x:str><COLGROUP><COL style="WIDTH: 141pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 6875" width=188><TBODY><TR style="HEIGHT: 12.75pt" height=17><TD class=xl22 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #d4d0c8; BORDER-TOP: #d4d0c8; BORDER-LEFT: #d4d0c8; WIDTH: 141pt; BORDER-BOTTOM: #d4d0c8; HEIGHT: 12.75pt; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent" width=188 height=17 x:str="pessimist ">

If Perrin comes out with a good s pipe I will be torn. iON or no iON what SHOULD I DO!

this will never happen... it's to hard to make it and have it connect to the factory exhaust. If someone made one they would have a gold mine on their hands because everyone would buy it. If I could fabricate I would sure as hell try and make one. I'm suprised that wagner or even HI-BOOST hasn't tried to make just the s-pipe. Perhaps it would be easier to fab the s-pipe into the j-pipe, but then you couldn't use your apex DP's. So it would have to be just the S-Pipe. Well I'll see what happens with this.

That settles it, iON here I come.

if you can get a 3" I would be all over it, but as others have said this part is hard to make and requires quite allot of work, there is no way it will be 200 I am sure, I would say double that at a minimum

You all keep solidifying(sp) my decision, how can people keep disrespecting iON when they are the only ones who bring this to us. They have the DNA of the unicorn

well. this shop seems pretty confident they can make it, but we'll see. I will let everyone know how it goes. It looks like there will be some interest in it, evern if there are some doubters, that's all i wanted to know.

Do you know how much they would charge? Would it work with my apex 2.5" midpipe?

He estimated under $200. Yes it will work. That's what I'm running.
