looks sweet.....
Allow me to be the first (on this thread at least) How much?
Also, was the original bumper support eliminated to put this big boy in there? That's quite a bit larger IC core than the "competition".....just looks like the original front beams were eliminated & replaced?

wow! now thats what a front mount should look like. I'm still having a hard time swallow that 1399.99 price. I'm also intrested in how you got such a large core in the front bumper. WE NEED DETAILS.... but that for the pics. THat would look sweet with the stock mesh on it....

So it looks like you can upgrade to a bigger radiator with this kit? Or does the i/c to t/b pipe still get in the way? That is one nice intercooler though. Any numbers on this yet? like hp ect.? I have the money, I just dont know if I want to spend the 1300 on a tig welder to make my own or spend it on that.

If I was going to get a front mount I would definately go with Perrin's. Nice work. I am still going witht the OEM looking SMIC, but I have to say your IC looks nice. Can't wait for my exhaust to get here. Any pics of the under side of the car with the exhaust installed? (Only ones I've seen are just the back of the car muffler view)

is it just me, or is the bumper support removed??? (uhm) because to me if you have to risk safety for a bigger core, its just not worth it... just my $0.02 -mike
edit: but I must admit that it is one nice ass kit (lol2)

There is a bumper support. The kit comes with a a new bumper support to fit the larger core. We should have them in stock next week, along with the rest of Perrins line.
Bar and Plate Core size is 28" x 9-1/4" x 3-1/2".

and I thought I was cool going custom, I dont think anything I put together could compare to a setup like that. Excellent work Perrin and thanks for supporting the mazdaspeed community. (first)
I wonder if the kit would work with a normal 2.0L protege as well....That would sure expand your target audience.

Doesn't it help support the radiator? Taking it out would probably be bad if that were the case. Just get a bigger radiator:)

Just get a P5 Rad, that's what most people are doing with the FMIC conversion.

Yeah, looking closely at the pic it looks like a bigger radiator will fit. I'm probably gonna go aftermarket though, no p5 rad for me.

I want to know what type of intake setup we can run with this FMIC... I LOVE the look of it. It fits in the bumper like a FMIC should... All the other kits look like the core is 2 inches to low... This just looks, well, damn good.
I'm assuming we could use a Perrin SRI with this?

Are you going to run a Gredy Type-S or a dual setup? I'm curious as to what it is supposed to run and also if we will be able to upgrade the radiator or if the pipes block the way. Any info?

I'm assuming the s/j-pipe combo will be 3"? To match the rest of the exhaust?

Any info?yes u can upgrade the radiator. u can use the stock bpv with the FMIC and i think he can weld a greddy BOV for u if u pay a lil more. or even install it for u since he sells them for a good price

Any info?Actually im gonna use the turboxs diverter valve. You can run a dual set up though if you want. And this kit does allow you to upgrade to a bigger radiator.

is the diverter valve the one pictured here: http://www.***************/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SU&Product_Code=RBV-25&Category_Code=BOV
Any reasons for running this setup compared to the type-s? Will it cause stalling or anything like that? Thanks for your reply.

Damn why such small pictures...

Dual valve setup is the most efficient route to go. Running just a BPV causes a pressure surge. Running just a BOV doesn't recirculate air back into the system which it already accounted for causing the system to run even more rich than it already is.
Running both valves allows for the most air to be recirc'd and the BOV releases excess pressure that kills the surge.
I have more detailed pics here, just hit me up with an email.
