Whats standard on a 03 mazdaspeed?

As i found out the other day the bov wasnt standard, so i was wondering if the following items are standard:


1. 3" exhaust
2. 3 gauges mounted just above the head unit
3. a brace bar on the front
4. a red brace bar on the back

and there is a square hole to the below left of the steering wheel with a wire and a conector block on the end. anyone have any idea what was there??

3. a brace bar on the frontYes.


4. a red brace bar on the backYes.

I'm not 100% sure, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's a diagnostics port.

1) The factory exhaust is 2.5 I think.
2) No gauges
3) Strut bar is standard
4) It has front and rear sway bars if that's what you mean

one more:

when i got pulled over the sherif said the tinted windows wernt standard.

i have a silver mazda and the tints are silver looking on all the windows except the front windscreen. The cop didnt like the front sides tinted said that wasnt standard.

having the tint on the front side windows is that standard? (the cop did say that the tinting job was a good one. Unlike the rest of the mods which have been done on my car)

In most states if the tint is darker than 35%-ish, it's illegal, and also if it's the silver ''mirrored'' type stuff it's illegal as well. Check with your laws (it may be just the front two can't be tinted silver). Tint is not standard...but it looks hella tight!

i got the ticket for speeding he let me off the tints and he said my exhaust was too loud but let me off.

Well, I remember someone cut the stock exhaust and measured it, it may be 2.25" somewhere, but it goes as small as 1.8"...so yeah, it sucks.

Did you buy this car from a dealer? Was there an inspection? If it has illegal modifications then it is the dealers' responsibility to make it legal for sale. And if it was inspected the tint should have been removed.

Definately 1.8" I took my exhaust off to make a new one and I was going to use the stock flange and drill it out, but that didn't work. Yea I know I couldnt believe it either.

The wire you are talking about to the lower left of the wheel was probalbly a turbo timer.

thanks for all your help guys, i am planning on modding this car and doing it right.

The car was bought from a mitsibishi dealer guy must have traded it in. i am ok with the tint it looks good and was done properly. thanks for your help guys.

yeah that would be me who measured it. the outer diameter may be 2.25" but the piping is quite thick so the inner diameter is really small. then again, i believe the evo makes 280ps on 45 mm piping!!!!
