Would it be possible to pick up a 1g bov at the junk yard and use it on hard pipes instead of using a greddy type-s or hks ssqv? Just a thought......this would save a pretty good chunk of money if it would work.

i think there are a couple threads on it, but I think the spring or something was to strong or to weak and it ended up not being worth it.
I considered pulling one out of the old parts bin (We DSM'ers all have one dont we???) and putting it on, but didnt based on some search results on the forums....

I would put one on my MSP..In fact I have a few laying around mabye I will..DSM BOV's hold up well past 300hp or 20psi of boost while still being light and responsive..Nothing beats a tial BOV and 28psi though..

Go over to DSMtuners.com and do a little searching over there, plenty of info on the 1G BOV. I don't know if it would bolt right up otherwise you might have to just get a bung welded in for it. I have some links for you to take a look at.

1g BOVs will hold 14psi uncrushed, and 21ish psi crushed....They should work find on the MSPs and you can pick up a crushed one for around $80 which is dirt cheap for a bov....i was actually going to use a crushed one on mine but I got a great deal on a hks racing bov....too bad my parts bin has been finally reduced to a 14b and some wastegate actuators....

It will hold good psi uncrushed...but...if you want to run it vented you have to crush it no matter what psi you are running.

why do you have to crush it to vent it?

on our cars with 10psi, how will the 2nd gen bov's hold up? I have a friend that will give me one for free, so thus my question on that one.

2nd gen ones will hold up to around 13ish psi....after that they tend to leak....
