I've seen a better pic then this one.

This look into the future of Mitsubishi’s Lancer Evo was shown to a group of astounded journalists at a recent press conference in Japan. An aggressive nose, new headlamps and trademark rear spoiler have transformed the tenth evolution of Mitsubishi's fast four-door into something out of Darwin's favourite dream.

A spokesperson for the company has emphatically stated that the concept is merely "a design study and not the final model", but if the finished product is anything like what is depicted here, Evo X could well be the next generation of road racer.

On the cards now is a 2.0L four-cylinder turbocharged mill thought to produce in excess of 300hp to 350hp. An all-new platform with a redesigned chassis based on the latest technology and an active limited-slip differential will ensure that Evo X will maintain it’s heritage of performance salon car excellence. However, we still have a long time to wait before Evo X hits the street as the Lancer-based Evo IX is only due for release next year. It will be built on this fall's lightweight Evo MR and will have the new MIVEC 2.0L with variable-cam engine that will rise the power well over the 300 mark and will provide even stronger top-end response.

That's... Uhm. Ugly. Very ugly, in fact. It looks like they put every reason I never bought a Suzuki Aerio SX into that car, and then beat it with an ugly stick. =/

Ugly or not, I'll take the HP #'s and the AWD+2xLSD, FMIC, 20+Psi Of Boost, Management, Knock Sensors etc...

n00b question...whats MIVEC?Q. What is MIVEC?
A. MIVEC is an acronym for 'Mitsubishi InnovativeValve timing and lift Electronic Control system'. It alters the profile of the cams to suit your driving demands. Thereby under low rev conditions the management system uses the smaller cams. The main feature however is if you open the throttle it can give the valves a longer duration and longer stroke providing maximum and efficient power and torque at all engine speeds. I amounts to an additional 20bhp over the standard engine.

basically mitsu's take on variable valve timing

I thought I heard somewhere that the Evo and the Neon weren't gonna be produced any more after Like next year or so(dont remember when it said) and it was gonna be a combination of the two in to one car. Maybe this is it. It does look kinda like a Neon Lancer love child that is deformed.

Well the new EVO X Looks alot better than this "Street Racer" from the west coast of Canada! The wing must help with stability on the Icy roads in the winter...

*shudders* Oh, gawd... That's AWEFUL. =P I bet that shit rattles all the way down the road. Uugh.

Oh, slightly off topic, Brian; Have you blown an engine/gone forged yet, by any chance? Just wondering how your unique turbo setup has been working for you. =)

And I went forged just after I had 500 Km on the car when I was building the turbo. It wasn't even broken in yet. 8.5:1 is what it's at now, I'm going to 8:1 so I can run over 17Psi but I might have to change the turbo as well. I bought the car to void the waranty, I kinna knew the stock rods etc would just not hold up past 7...I was after a bit more...

I guess he really offended me with his car. Not so much the car, but the fact that he would break a really nice car and then think it was the SHIT!
