I'm going to be getting a 2.5" Apex downpipe with a high-flow catalytic converter... But I am curious... Would the CEL come on even with a high-flow cat? Will I need a MIL eliminator?

It all depends on where the 02 sensor would be mounted. If it is mounted behind the hi flo cat, then you wont get a cel but if it is infront it will.

Just mount the sensor behind the cat. I have a CS exhaust with a Vibrant cat and no CEL.

i didn't think a mil eliminator was needed at all w/ a hi-flow cat in place (especially on the apex pipe).

Put the O2 sensor after the cat, no CEL, unless you cook your cat.
I have a cat on my Corksport exhaust, no CEL.

Did you just bring your car to a local exhaust shop to put the Cat on? How much did it run you?

I went to Essential Speed, bought the cat and had it installed with an O2 bung for about $200 Canadian, parts and labour. Also extended the O2 sensor wires, fixed a leak etc etc.

I have been running my ION exhaust with high flow cat for a long time and no CEL :D
