I need to purchase new gaskets for my water pump, manifold, and head I would like to know where to but these other than mazda? I also need to know the torque specs on the head? Im purchasing the fsde stage two set up from racingmazda.com tomm. and it should be here in about two weeks. they say Im not going to have any problems with the clerance of the oil squirters with these pistons. What do you guys think?

the stage 2 upgrade is nice... pauter isn't my favorite, but you wont break them unless you do somthing stupid.

head bolt torq is 13-16.5 ft-lbf

all info can be found here: http://protege5.ugly.net/

The common thing I have noticed on a lot of blown engines is a FCD... Hmm, maybe the fuel cut is there for a reason with the stock tuning maps.

I noticed that about 12 hours after I blew mine, apparently your suppose to hook it up to a toggle switch and only use it when needed!! Got me hopefully this motor will last a while longer since Im going forged and some sort of fuel management! Not sure which one though opinions are wanted. How about the gaskets that Im going to need?

The fcd just means you can run more boost. More boost + weak rods = bye bye to misc small pieces of block.

The fuel cut is there because that is the max airflow or boost pressure that mazda deemed "safe" with the stock ECUs tuning and the stock internals. Bypassing it without an engine management system is, well I'm not going to use the word stupid, but it should be a calculated risk with no surprise when the engine goes boom.

Oh your exactly right Im one of the few people who have blow their engine and not tried to blame any of the aftermarket stuff or mazda. I knew from the day I bought the car and started messing with it eventually I would get burned. All Im saying is make sure you can afford this hobby if you want to play. Now back to my question what gaskets and where can I but them. Thanks

Exactly I know I will have to face the enevitable one day, thats why I am trying to get a motor now.
