Nissan’ s 2005 Altima SE-R that made its public debut last spring at the New York show (AW, April 5) goes on sale Sept. 22 nationwide. Here’s the latest: Altima SE-R’s sticker of $29,760 includes the higher-output 3.5-liter V6 (up 10 hp to 260 vs. non-SE-R models), 18-inch wheels, performance-tuned suspension, leather seats, the 350Z’s three-gauge instrument cluster and a host of body mods.

Who would buy a 29K Altima? I wouldn't! But its a sexy car.

Big money but I would love to run around in one of those. I looked at the 3.5SE when I bought my MSP. My girlfriend runs around in an 04 Maxima SE and with that powertrain in a smaller car it must be quick.

Actually the Altima is just afew inches shorter then the Maxi. Its still a big car. I think the Altima would of been nicer the size of the Mazda 6.

yeah..I think the altima is a little too big..but still, I still love all the SE models on altima or maxima.
the shifter on the pic in the SE-R look like a truck shifter...or maybe it's just the pic or me?!

It looks to high to be in a car.

it looks like one of those "real time" mpg gauges in bmw's. the more you stomp on the gas, the lower mpg it'll read. kinda useless if you ask me.

I agree with you guys, sweet car, but it's just too damn big.
$30 K is a lot of cashola as well.

damn, why they gotta mess around...screw the Z gauge cluster, they should put the 287hp engine in it...(hand)

for the price, you're in rx8, evo, sti, 350z, r32, s2k, legacy, mustang mach 1, GTO territory. not a pretty place to be if you're going to push a performance car. a FWD performance car.

the only car you listed that is comparable to this one is the Legacy, and i personally would MUCH rather have a LGT than an Altime SE-R.

i guess when i think of a badge like "se-r" i think "performance," which this car is clearly trying to do. but you're right; the other cars i've listed are mostly hardcore performance vehicles. but can you say the r32 isn't a better car than that? after all, the r32 gets its licks from the evos and stis and srt-4s because it's a "compromise" car... the legacy of course is better--better looking, and i'd rather have that engine... don't know if it's faster in a straight line, but i was seriously thinking about trading my evo in for the legacy.. droool..... :)
but a mazdaspeed 6... omghi2u.... (upbum)

I don't know for that money,I'd either get a WRX w/ mods,an Evo,a 350Z or save up 3K more and get an STI.
