View Full Version : help on breaks!!!!
well im currently on 35K miles on my 03 ES. but now whenever i hit my breaks theres always a noise coming from the rear. i know it has to be my break pads, but not sure either. another thing is that i do a shit load of highway driving. but has anyone gotten this?? please help!!
I assume till this point you havent changed brakes in the rear. If thats so, then its your brakes squeeking. The only reason why they squeek is to let you know that brakes are low on the pads. There is a really small metal plate that sits on the brake pads, and when your brake pads wear off, this metal plate is rubbing against the rotor, therefore creating a squeeking noise, which is an alarm that lets you know that you need to change brakes asap.

not all the way true, you rear breaks can squeak bad if alot of brake dust is in them, a simple adjust and cleaning should fix it. while it is off just see if the pads are low, it usually goes 2 front break jobs to every 1 rear brake job.. the front wear faster..

(rofl) hahaha Man thats priceless!
well thankz everyone for the help. i went to midas to get the brakes inspected. the outcome, rear had no brake pads what so ever. they were fn gone already. the fronts were thined down also. guy said that there really was no damage. good thing i took the car fast. i never heard the warning noise it makes, but reason for that is that im always "bumping" da music. cost towards the end was $360. 120 for front and back rotors getting resurfaced. and about 80 bucks each brake pad(life time warranty). so its all good now. i was going to get the ceramic pads but they said there was none available for it yet, sometime in the future. i just pay the difference for the ceramics. well thanks all of you for the help!!!

Glad to hear that everything came out good. Good thing you took care of that in a fast manner.
