Well i was getting my car serviced at the dealership(ac resistor,bumper,subwoofer) and they gave me a Mazda 6 as a rental. It was the base model with the 2.3 i think. Nice car but a dog as far as acceleration, you really have to put your foot into that thing to get it to go. As far as handeling, it was pretty good for a car that size. Overall nice car for someone else but not me. Long story short, drive another car for 2 days and go back to the speed. You'll realized how amazing that little protege is.
I LOVE THE MAZDASPEED.
On a side note, my girlfriend, who thinks cars are stupid made fun of the exhaust note of the 6 under full throttle saying "that sounds horrible, if i get one of these i want it to sound like your car, throaty instead of whiny." Maybe i'll get her to like cars afterall?

Maybe you should just be like me and not let your wife / girlfriend 1000 ft from the garage.

I just took mine in and got the 2.3l 3... Nice car. I liked the interior and features (cruise control) a bit more than the MSP, but it felt soooo slow (and that was the quicker of the 3's) and the radio was joke. It handled okay, but I think the Protege's as a whole handled better. By the way, the 3 has a HUGE glovebox. I think you could fit 5 or 6 hookers in there.

I know what ya mean about switching cars. The most dramatic thing for me was comng back from NY in our 15 passenger van. Drove that thing all weekend, then got back in my car and i was like whoa, i can TURN(shocked)

You're lucky. My rental was a Buick Century. Try driving that for a while and see how bad you miss your speed.

yes///for some reason here in texas they give century as loner and not a mazda brand...i had a fight with the rental company for reason that i never driven any car except mazda...long story short...i felt like a guy who dosent know how things work in that car...by the end of the day i was so dizzy cos the suspension bounces too much...i was so happy to get back to my MSP..

You should hear the 6s under full acceleration, once its past 4k it sounds REALLY nice.
The 2.3L sounds REALLY REALLY nice with an exhaust on it.

van=p5=wagon lol
I have to take mine in Monday for bumper / sub. We will see what they give me when I take mine in. Of course the only car I want is a RX-8 but I will like to have a 3.

Hell I watched in complete awe the other day as my Fiance bolted a new cabeurator on my old truck. She went out and picked one out(based on the specs I'm always talking about, about that motor), bought it, then installed it.
WOOHOO, 2 Barrel goodbye, hellow 4 barrel Goodness!

Yea, pretty soon she's going to be spending all the time in the garage and you're going to be the one bringing her beer:)

I don't think so, but it was kinda of a turn on to see her in my coveralls(I'm 6'3" and shes 5' even), and all covered with grease.

Girls that work on are cars are hot.... even the not-so-goodlooking ones seem sexy.
