Hey what's up to everyone. I sold my car last week. I was going to sell parts off the car, but I ended up finding a guy in Ohio that drove up and bought the car.

I ended up moving into my house and had alot more money left over then I thought.

I ended up going to the Mitsubishi Dealership and put a deposit down on the 2005 Evolution MR. I ended up going with the Graphite Gray color.

I'll still come to the forum from now and then, especially to check out the local events and meets.

It's been great, thanks...

Ummm, am I jealous? Yes. Am I happy for you? Sure. Should you keep an eye on that new MR 24/7 and look out for a black MSP driving slowly by in the middle of the night? Definitely.

you do realize that the MR is 34,999 bux rite? Not worth the extra 5k if your not a hardcore track racer.

Mind if I ask how much you got for the MSP? Miles?
Congrats on the MR! It's suppose to be more compliant then the normal EVO, but 35k?! that's a lot of $$$...what else did you consider before making your decision?

Was that really needed? Give the guy a break. He just bought a house AND a car. Apparently he's doing pretty damn well and is making decisions well enough on his own. Please stop the unneeded bashing.

I think that the 6spd, better diff, and better turbo alone are worth the extra $5k.

is the MR replacing the normal Evo VIII, or will they both still be produced?

Hello everyone thanks for the support. My dealer told me my car was made on September 8th. I should be getting the car by the end of this month. No real MSRP is out yet, but I have seen anything from 33,000 to 34,900. The dealer guranteed me in writing he would sell to me $200 below MSRP. Which is pretty good, because some dealers are marking up. There only making 1000 MR's for the US. For the Evo line up, they still will make the Evo 8 and the RS.
I ended up selling my MazdaSpeed for 17,000 with 6,800 miles on it. I loved the MazdaSpeed, just wish it had come with a little more power and all wheel drive. I would have kept it, but thought I was going to need more money for down payment, but since I had money left over, I went to buy the MR. As soon as I get it I will post some pictures.

the MR has a justifyable price increase over the normal Evo. a 6spd, bigger turbo, active center diff, a limited slip up front instead of open diff, lighter wheels, bilstein shocks to make the ride a bit more comfortable than the normal Evo.

hah, you guys think $34k for an Evo is expensive ? try buying an Evo FQ340 in britain. they go for $60K+. has about 342 horsepower and other little things that differentiate it from a standard evo

I've noticed that some others have done the same thing. One guy on here sold his with 12k on it for $17k on a trade in. I wonder how many of these trade in stories are true? Are dealers really giving more for the car or marking up the new one to make up the difference? I almost would like to trade up to an Evo if I could get decent money for mine.

I originally got my car brand new for $17,800. I got a rebate and put down $10,000 in cash, so they were a little more willing to deal.
Tell you the truth people I'm not bashing the Mazdaspeed, it's just my opinion. It seems like no matter how much we fix up the Speed, it just seems like it will always be incomplete. I mean for the most part, it's a user friendly car, but that damn ECU with the hesitation will always be there.
Bottom line, if you really want to get rid of your car to upgrade to something else, I suggest you clean your car and post it on Ebay and AutoTrader.com.
I went to Carmax before I sold it to a private buyer, and there were only going to give me $13,400. Basically it's considered a 2 year old car now, that the 2005 cars are on there way. So my advise to any of you who want a STI, EVO, BMW, Neon SrT4, I would try selling now so you get your " money's worth "
Again not bashing anyone who loves the car, I just wanted to upgrade.

LOL.... I just stumbled upon this thread..... this is a total bump, but the car that sold here is my car. There is some false stuff.... but anyway I just had to bump for a laugh. Funny what you find on these forums!
I got it for $16,500 with 6,800 miles... and it just got back from a shop that threw over $4,000 worth of stuff on it. Car and aftermarket parts were mint, though I changed most of them by now... and added some as well.

LOL your funny bro. wow I was off by $500.00 for how much I sold it to you for. The parts on the car weren't in mint condition, they were in excellent condition!! Bro you know I gave you a good ass deal, an aftermarket alarm of like $100.00. I also gave you a extra G-Games Rim, free of charge!!!

I just had to do a bump, it was funny. By the way, here's a direct link to my new car. 2005 Gray Evo MR :)

I must say I was very impressed with the condition of the car, I just wanted to let people know I did not buy a stock car for $16,500 by any means. The installs were done very well.... I hate to rip some of it out! Ok maybe not.
Thanks for the link to the car... I am jealous.

Oh I will stick around. I just got my brand new Do Luck Carbon fiber lip in the mail today, I will be putting that on tomorrow!!! It's the same lip that comes on the Gray Evo MR FQ 400 in Europe. If it doesn't rain im installing it.

Glad to see you still have the car.
