Ok... got my front motor mount (AT) about 3 weeks ago. Starting the other day, I am noticing that I am getting more lashing(lurching), not as bad as the stock mount, but more noticable. Is it possible that something happened to the rear mount (more stress), or something? Or can I chalk this up as the new mount settling in?

Sound like your rear mount if starting to fail .Sorry about the bad news ,Mine did this as well ,I ended up putting in the rear mount . Then no more problems

I just went over 18k! I went under the car yesterday just to make sure that everything was still tight... it was. What do you think it could be? Failed front motor mount?

More than likely the rear mount was ready to fail ,install the atiffer front mount just accelerated the wear and tear on the mount

My opinion is that it's not the mounts. Both of my proteges had engine lash (lurch) problems, the 2000 ES moreso than the MSP. But the MSP has had it too and when I switched to front and rear AWR mounts it didn't make 1 bit of difference in the lurching problem. That's just Mazda's shitty drivetrain at work IMO.
