okay, i had a shop install my injen cold air intake and my hks ssqv...they said with the ssqv it couldn't "recirculate" even though i asked them if it could earlier and they said yeah......they probably just forgot to order that one part. but whatever...i waited like 4 months to do this so i wanted to get it done. sooooo i tested out the car... drove around for a bit, no turkey, no stalling out..... i was going home and i noticed something with the clutch... whenever i shifted and i was letting up on the clutch...once in a while probably only during the first 3 gears...the clutch makes some kind of noise once it grabs... kinna like a clicking/popping noise. anyone knows what this could be? one friend said it could be the axle is loose or something like that. this problem never occured until the set up was complete...could it be just something that comes along with an unrecirculated bov (like the common stalls or backfire?).
also... the injen doesn't have a watersheild huh?
thanks for all of your guys help.

yeah no shield. people say it shouldnt be a problem unless u drive into a pool. do u have a bracket for your pipes?

actually, mine kinda makes that same noise. I think its the Injen banging against something under the hood though, so I don't think its a huge problem.

mine started making that too. it started making it after i got the car back from the dealership when they "fixed the tranny mount"

hmmm hopefully it's not bad. should i go back to the shop and ask them to try and fix it?

Its the engine mount thats doing it or your intake pipe hitting in the hole going into the fenderwell. I've gotten pretty good at diagnosing the weird noises from our cars.

so that's what i'm feeling on the clutch? my friend rode with me today and said he could feel it on the floor on the passanger side too, like the vibration when the clicking noise occurs? think i should go back and ask them to fix it, or is this just a problem that comes with the intake?

surround the hole with a rubber piece or get a motor mount?

I've heard about Injen's not being connected hard enough so they start to rattle around. Mine doesn't do it but I remember reading that before.

if you're feeling something through your clutch, that's definitely not your intake. you'll know if your intake is banging around cause you'll hear the rattle quite easily. mine did this. i say take your car back and take the mechanic for a ride.

they say they think it's this metal bracket that looked like it was going to get in the way of the intake, so right now it's banging against it...it happens whenever i start up the car, or once the clutch grabs i can feel it on the clutch. so i'm going down tomorrow...they're going to try and pad the bracket so it won't vibrate against the intake. wish me luck.

you can feel vibrations through the pedals, mine did it before i used this rubber self adhesive that we use on our helicopters to pad the pipe in the 3 spots it was barely rubbing, i felt it in the brake and clutch and on the floor boards. Once i put that shit on to stop the rubbing it felt normal again.

Well, I've had this problem maybe. When I would let off the clutch, it would "squeek" kind of. Is that what you mean? Dealership replaced just the throw out bearing once, and it came back, then they replaced the whole clutch and I haven't heard it since. At idle the car "squeeks" as well, unless I push the clutch in. It did it badly before I got the new clutch, and now it's starting to come back a little... I didn't notice any drop in performance though.

make sure the intake isn't whackin' against the hole it goes through down into the wheel well. I had to adjust mine so it wouldn't touch.

i didn't read in your post that you have hardpipes so i'm assuming you don't, if you're HKS SSQ is on stock post could you post (pics) that would be a great help... thanks
