I got my j pipe back exhaust done about four days ago with hi flow cat and recently it's throwin a check engine light. Why is it doing this, is it because of my exhaust? I thought it shouldn't throw one since I have a cat on. If so, how do I fix it?

get the code read. it might be something not related to the exhaust. autozone checks em for free.

duck under your car real quick and look for the 2nd o2 sensor....is it before or after the cat? cause it should be after.

damn, I m pretty sure you can't see the o2 sensors without jacking up the car a lil bit. I am correct thought, with a hif flow cat, it shouldn't throw a cel right?

so long as your o2 sensor is in the right place. you should be able to see the 2nd o2 sensor no problem.

Yeah your right stryke, the o2 sensor is mounted about 7 inches away from the j pipe where the first cat used to sit. Not after the hi flow cat.

They could I guess however, personally, I'd just install the fix. I'm thinking it'll be much more work for them to close the current bung, weld a new one, attach it, etc. Your choice though.

i'd at least let your exhaust shop know they screwed up....prolly isn't the first time they've done that
