Anyone bought a set of these, if so, are they worth it? They are so cheap, moneywise, that I'm a little leary of buying them. I'm afriad that they'll leave huge gaps between the light and the body of my '01 ES. I'd love to have a good set of Altezza tailights though.

they look like they would fit on our cars.
1. i wouldnt recomend getting them only because i cant stand cars with altezzas, too ricy. i mean thats just my opinion, do what you wish.
2.yes they are on ebay so you have no idea what you are in for, but they do say they are for a 99-03 protege so it should fit.

if you are unsure of anything just email the guy who is putting up the taillights for auction. but man i mean its up to you bro

I had the black version of those tails, quality was pretty decent.

Quality issues aside...are they DOT legal?
Hypothetical: If someone hits you from the rear, all they have to do is say they didn't see your brake lights and now the accident is your fault for running non DOT approved equipment.

It's not such an issue with the Altezza tails because they work for the most part, but it was a big deal a few years back when clear tails were the rage.

Sure, but they are DOT approved...whereas the cheap Taiwan knockoffs are not. All the difference in the world when it comes to legality.

I love the look of those Altezza tail lights, I saw a Mazdaspeed Protege a couple months back with them and it looked great. I'm not a ricer, but I think they do add a touch. These I found are supposed to be DOT approved and they look better to me, they are a little more expensive though, but wel worth it.

As far as the tail lights.... I had a chance to speak with one of the Police officers at my work, and he said, it doesnt matter what color are the tail lights and if they are DOT approved or not. As long as your signals will be the same (amber for turn signals, red for braking, white for reverse) they are legal. If not, then you will get some tickets.

Headlights on the other hand are suppose to be DOT approved due to the beam patterns. Same thing for the fog lights.

If you feel like getting these altezza tail lights, then be my guest. My personal opinion, I dont like these altezzas, but your taste is all it counts, AS LONG as you dont rice your car out (wink)

You can also have red turn signals. It's red or amber to the rear and white or amber to the front. Though you might want to check your local state's laws. Each may be different. A few yrs ago in Washinton you could have green also. It was the only legal neon color. Lots of ppl had green turn signals and green underbody neons till they changed the law....stupid gov't.

Those are either the Euorlite or replicas of the Eurolite Altezza.

The carbon fiber ones on ebay claim "carbon fiber look."
Is it a cheasy carbon fiber look, or do they look pretty clean?
