(direct) Get ready to cruise, cuz we're goin' to Memphis!

Date: September 12, 2004

Time: 9:45 a.m.

What: Cruise to Memphis, Nebraska for brunch at Don's Bar.
Brunch buffet is only $5.50 per person.

Meeting Place: MJ Java --- 156th and West Center Road. (So all the caffeine junkies can get a cup o' joe for the ride.)

Route: I'll determine that by the 12th and will hand out maps to everyone that morning.

I forgot to ask them if it includes an alignment- if anyone is pretty handy with coilovers I am listening!!! hey el presidente'! Jesus 195 for the install, man am i glad i work for the military, did my suspension work on base by myself, took an hour and only cost $12.00,

Installing the complete suspension with adjustable coilovers is a little more complex than popping in a new set of springs ;) It took an over an hour and taking all four wheels off individually several times just to get the ride height perfect and even with me in the driver's seat -- trying to get proper corner weighting without using a scale. The RX-8 is an incredibly well balanced vehicle and I would hate to mess up the Mazda engineers hard work.

Kain -- I have Jason's number at the office and will send to you tomorrow -- his shop is close to 60th and Harrison. He has even run out to my office several times just to adjust for me (was too low at first and then the springs settled and I had to fine tune).

I will call him as soon as I get that number from you and schedule this- my coilovers should be getting here anyday now- I have a super lightweight battery coming in the mail today! (according to shipping tracking) :) If I had the time I might try to tackle this myself, however, I want this done before the memphis drive and 195 is not bad at all if all the time I save I get to spend with the kids! :) thanx Jeff!!!

Ehh the wife had to go into surgery for appendisitis, she is recovering, which means no time to finish projects right now, and trip was good minus all the typhoons, and having to move all over Japan to get away from them, but some good golfing there in a few places, unfortunately no new car parts

I know you been busy man. Its OK we understand. I am gonna be working allot this month since one person here in the Kiosk left. Glad to here bout the logos. Since it seems we have a few people joining, 2-3, I might be able to sqeeze one in there for ya. When we gettin together for some brews, since we didn't get to celebrate your birthday.

Memphis, Nebraska, population 117. It's about 40 miles west of Omaha. It's a little bitty podunk town, but it has this funky old bar and restaurant called Don's. There's also a nice state park there with a big lake for fishing.

Ive done it about three times on the pfive. i also helped Tom Buy new endlinks as a tip. Its easier than trying to use the old ones.

I am waiting for KYMP5 to Pm me back about springs he has for sale.
Any ideas on when you are free to do it after the 1st of the month.

Also, do you have your stock rims and tires that I could borrow for a few weeks. I am thinking of getting the tires taken off, then take the rims and get them painted black, then new tires put on. If not, then I am contemplating the following.

Anyone want to help me sand my rims down and paint them black? I did this on my Olds 442 years ago and came out great. Since I am waiting till next year for rims, I want to do something dif. It can be done and hold up to use and abuse as long as it is prepped right. It will just take time is all. Would anyone be up for that?

Yes the cruise was fun. Thanks goes out to those that where able to make it. To bad for those that weren't able to make it, maybe next time.

Tech/Cruise/BBQ/NFL day at my house in Shenandoah, IA. is set for this Sunday the 19th. We can start as early as you want. The earlier you show up the more we can get done.

I am hoping all can make it due to the end of the year being near and the weather is not going to stay nice for much longer. Its a cruise since you have to drive to my house. Tech day is for all who have projects they want to do on there car and we all can help out. BBQ is obvious. NFL day is for those that have no projects on there car and want to come hang out. There is also 1 xbox and PS2 that can be utilized. I have 2 tvs available, maybe 3. Would be fun to also, if possible, to setup a LAN party and play SOCOM II or something along those lines.

I have a big garage with tools but if there is something you think you might need bring it. When we are done techin or whatever, we can cruise the strip here in town. Yee Haw!

I hit a little snag with this next sunday as my wife is running in the corporate cup- might be able to just bring the girls out later in the afternoon for a nice sunday drive and offer any assistance I could give. and the drive was great by the way- couldn't have asked for better weather :)

October 10th----at around 12:30 PM. We'll meet somewhere and drive north on I-29---(that's where Kain will get to show off!) and then come back south on the Byway----and we'll stop at an orchard along the way for refreshments.
