Anyone beside me experiance bucking in the drivetrain at low speeds in first or second like when your in traffic or a parking lot? I have to be easy with the throttle.
Are the aftermarket motor and tranny mounts designed to improve or eliminate this problem?

Are the aftermarket motor and tranny mounts designed to improve or eliminate this problem?AWR has front and rear motor mounts to alleviate this common problem. They have mounts for manual and A/T setups; the A/T mounts are slightly softer than the ones for the manual. Many with the manual mounts have expressed an increased vibration in the car, whereras it doesn't seem as pronounced with the A/T ones.
If you do a search for AWR motor mounts, you'll find so much information posted about this topic it'll make your head spin, lol.

Our stock motor mounts are not the most fantastic thing Mazda has even done. They are apparently also a weak link when doing any kind of competition, from 1/4 mile to even stock class autocrossing, especially the front and rear mounts, the side (fenderwell) ones fare better I guess. BTW, AWR sells the front mount only, in either A/T or M/T versions. The rear (firewall) mount is rumored to be a real bitch to put in, to the point that even dealers and shops are torching off some wiring loom stud that is apparently in the way. I have a friend with both mounts in, and the vibration increase is very substantial. I did the front only, and while it's not as bad, it's still alarming the first time you hit the starter. Good luck.

I absolutely agree with Rusty on this. Stock motor mounts are crap if you race your car. They are ok for daily driving. I JUST put in the front AWR A/T mount in my car yesterday. I must say, there is much less rocking of the engine back and forth, but vibration increased. Some people say just give it 4-5 days so the Poly-urathane mount would break in. After that period, Ill see hows the wheel hop. I bet it will still be there but some of it should be eliminated.

Thanks for the answers, i don't race or autocross, i am just looking for better drivability. Looking back guys was the new mounts worth the trouble? Why a at mount? are they a little softer than the mt mount?

If you are willing to give up a little comfort then go with AWR mount. If you wanna stay with no rattling, then stay with stock mount. A/T front AWR mount is softer than M/T one. I got A/T mount on my manual tranny.
