I need #6 w/ resonator, but in mild steel. I'm going to the exhaust shop today to see if they can make me one as my old one is bent. If they get outrageous on the price I'll be coming back here for a mild steel one from you.

It'd be an upgrade for anyone who has the stock pipes. For me, I'm actually getting it to quiet down my exhaust and replace the crush-bent, mild steel section that I got to replace it originally. It looks pretty crappy, especially when the whole rest of my exhaust before it and after it is stainless, and it sounds a little loud for me, without the resonator there.

So, it may or may not change the sound, but it would get the piping from the cat-back to all the same diameter, assuming you had an axle back section already.

ok sorry guys been slammed here...stupid florida hurricane weather will just not give me a fucking break 2 in a row with 1 more coming...francis took out our fax machine and sent invoices all over the office when the window broke, but we seem to almost be back to par....ok as far as the pipes go, stainless is on its way(hurricane set it back a few days) and we have the bender programmed and ready to go. So we're waiting on SS and flanges. The laser cutter is supposed to get back to me beginning of next week with final #s and time frame, hes backed up b/c of the hurricane also. SOrry this is taking longer than expected, hopefully we'll have a few weeks of good weather for shipping! Also thanks to mike and everyone for answering questions and staying on top of this thing, though I dont mind pm questions, if i dont get any it just means more time i can spend at the drawing boards and lately I havent been getting many!

Ok boys good news update...Got the final prices and timeframe for the flanges.... they're supposed to be to my door within 2 weeks from monday and then all we have to do is weld them on...So should be shipping them out within 3wks to you guys...I'll have final prices up tonight, just gotta get back to the shop and add everything up again, but looking back at what I originally told mike I dont see a big change coming...thanks for everyone's patience and now that these stupid hurricanes are otu of the way we should be right back on schedule...for those of you waiting on 3in, we will more than likely be producign these here in a month or so...

P.S. this also applies to midpipes, though the #6 pipes will be filled and shipped first....

yep the 2 most restrictive parts on the car are the s-pipe and the dual cat system...on a stock boost setup i doubt you would see any significant gain differences between a full CS style exhaust and having the midpipe and s-pipe replaced...where the CS exhaust gains 13whp from dp back replacement the ionsport gained 25ish whp from replacing the s-pipe also...

Just to bring this back up to the top....I have a question for you dsmconvert...If I had an OBX header and an axle back...would I just need the #5, and #6 to make it a complete exhaust system????and if so what kind of price am I looking at..If you have to take it to pm thats no problem...

yep sure can....Mike will keep adding names untill I tell him we're set on the GB, which looks to be closing here in about a week when I put in the final production #s(at that time I will need half of hte funds upfront). The company that was supplying us with our ss resonators is giving us severe problems since we decided not to also get the flanges from them(They wanted $3 more per flange so we went with another company for those), so more than likely the non-resonator versions will be out first while we find another supplier and try to get our money back since they refuse to deliver the products. Crap! looking at the thread I also noticed I forgot to throw up the Final final prices...grr I'll ahve to make atrip back to Orlando to get thhem at the office...Again The GB will more than likely be closing in a week or so. Once the list is closed everyone on the list will need to pay half upfront, this is due to the fact that this is a 1 time special run for Mike who requested it and found enough people to make it happen and we're barely going to turn a profit so if more than 3 people backed out we'd be screwed. That being said we have no problem doing special requests like mike has done, and those of you on the list should let mike know you appreciated the effort.

These prices are based on the quantities off of mikes latest list on the first page. Production can start as soon as I receive everyone's money. Normally I would wait till the end to collect money, but this is a one time only special production and we're basically selling these for a very minimal profit margin. I'm sure there are some gains, the HKS axleback give decent gains alone, and IIRC the Racing beat catback gave like 5HP more. The MSP will definately get more out of it than a N/A car.

ok guys a detail that I need to mention if we dont have atleast the original # of people we will not be able to do this. Production costs are already almost equal to sale price, meaning that any less and the cost of production would go up quite a bit. Remember quantity means cheap, so if we only have 5 or so people there is no way we can produce a product at a reasonable price. When you figure in CNC programming, jigs that have to be made and flanges that have to be laser cut it gets very very expensive to produce "one off" items.

I sent my information to Mike R, i'm still down :). I finally got paypal to work for me. Yanyan trust me you will see gains with the #6 pipe any turbo car needs to breathe. Factor in also that with an open exhaust the more PSI you add the more HP per PSI with a bigger exhaust. Its pointless to run more PSI on stock exhaust its too restricted. If you have a midpipe you'll see even more gains.

sp2 is not full exhuast its only a catback which is less then 2.5inches and has a resonator.

Loot at the schematics on page 1, this doesn't replace the cats, it replaces the stock resonator. The cats are on the #5 pipe (MSP).
I would see this as being a sound mod more than anything else.
