So I finally got my low temp thermostat from corksport (4 months later) and I go to install it- drain the coolant- and get the top bolt off- then start to work on the second bolt holding the stock one in there.... Impossible to get off.

I tried for a few hours with everything from deep sockets, to vice grips, to mini wrenches... The damn thing just wouldn't come off and was getting stripped pretty bad. So I let it soak in some prenetrating oil for a few hours and still nothing...

ahaha I figured forget it and put everyhtign back on and left the battle for another day. But I may just sell it if anyone's interested. :(

Well, if you decide you no longer want it, I might be interested. How much $ are you talking about?

I think I'm going to give it one more try when we install the new IC pipes. The Thermostat new was around $75.00!! Yes, I know... That's a lot for a thermostat.

Well I hope it works out for you. I may just buy one myself if you decide to keep yours. I'm not sure if this will get rid of the coolant smell.

I already have an awr high performance radiator and a mazdaspeed 1.3 bar radiator cap, and water wetter mixed in.

I have a coolant catch can that i haven't installed yet, and I wanted to flush my coolant system, so definitely keep me posted. I figured that I should get a low temp thermostat before I do the coolant flush.
