Does the brake disc's on the mazda 3i sedan rust during winter if not protected? because i have the stock rims
They'll rust if there's any moisture present. What type of wheels doesn't matter. Steel will rust around moisture. Mine will rust after a rain shower, but it clears off after the first pressing of the brake pedal.

Ok, so it will come off , it wont cause any sqeeking noise in the winter from the snow because the rust will come off and it will dry as i drive i would figure, so i dont need to worry about putting wheel dust shields which would protect the disc brake from the winter...., because thats my only fear for the brake disc , since with those stock rims it can easily get rust but if it comes off in the winter time as well and wont leave marks or make sounds when braking then i dont need to worry about that part of the car for the winter
thanks
You will get some scraping sound the first couple of brakings until the pads have taken off the rust.I'm not familiar with driving in snow with disc brakes and having any problems. So you might want to think about those dust shields. Just ask around. Surely you'll find an experienced snow driver that will help you out.
I was thinking about how the pads clear the rust down here in rainy Florida.
