Hahaha well it seems we've scared Turbohoses.com into producing reasonably priced products. Gotta love a country where a small business can intimidate a giant corporation into price submission. Well I think this is a big sign of effectiveness for all the local vendors. I hope local vendor loyalty will continue on this site, as it has aided in the production of many positive and ingenius results. So vendors take a bow it appears your hard work has paid off.

i think its badass that you are making parts that cost what they should... in fact, I plan to buy several of your products... but this thread is totally pointless...

Lower-quality is what has happened. They have seen everyone jumping on the less effective steel piping for cheap $$ and want some of the action. Their original aluminum pipes are the best, but they have seen that most people don't know the specifics qualities of the materials used and buy whatever is cheapest. The stock plastic pipes lose less heat than steel pipes do, weigh less, and the only downside is they are fragile and prone to leaking at high pressure. Aluminum intake piping will always yeild the best results (there are types of plastics that have the strength and specific heat to be superior, but none of us can afford it lol). You also don't need a tig welder for steel. I actually hate to see people building shit parts for cheap because it shows the vendors that MSP owners (majority) won't pay for quality parts and scares them away from making them. There are 6 shops that could make me mild steel IC piping (and I live in a small Idaho area) locally, but none that could make (mandrel bends) and tig weld together aluminum.

their new one is chrome plated steel. i knew they had 2 change it to make it "affordable"
I'll still take the aluminum over the steel pipes anyday.

i think turbohoses were a tad bit overpriced i dont care what the pipes are made out of.
If you compare the cost buying hardpipes with a HKS flange and HKS Bov your looking at 700 bucks....that is DAMN close to just buying a Kit from Hi-Boost and getting a FMIC for 200 bucks more.
Add the fact that if you purchase the turbohoses kit you will most likely have to custom fit your own FMIC since i dont see any companies selling their FMIC/piping without buying the entire kit
all that was a big factor in me not buying hardpipes from them still a great company but i just dont think the price was on point

Aluminum piping is expensive to make. Turbohoses and ********** have to make some profit. The pipes were not that expensive $390 for the pipes. $603 for the Greddy type S and the flange tig welded included. Hiboost is able to do what they do because they use cheaper materials, a good (not great) core, and they got a lot of orders. It was a good deal for the money, but by no means top of the line. I even thought of getting it until I asked questions about the specifics of the system that were never answered. He didn't even know much about the mild steel that he was using for piping which made me question the engineering knowledge of the shop. This is just my opinion, there are plenty of people running the hiboost turbos with their Haltech maps that swear by the company, but they knew how to make $$ off the MSPers by offering a cheap FMIC.

What the hell are you talking about.turbohoses makes thier products they best they can without raping the cutomer, and the DO have a better product then you,by the way they are not a BIG corporation you shmuck, and they had thier product out with the price set long before your nose was in it's ass
turbohoses tries thier best to make good quility products for cars that everyone else ignores, and the last thing you would need to do is push them from the MSP lineup.since they will have thier SMIC soon and maybe an S-pipe.why because thats what people have been asking for, unlike you who try to undercut a good company.instead of developing something useful.
The people buying your products aren't looking for performance, and if the are then they eare looking in the wrong place.

1. I agree that there are some WAY over priced parts out there.
2. I can't afford those overpriced parts, so I have been paying close attention to DSM's line-up. Steel pipes may not insulate as well as aluminum, but they don't expand like my plastic ones do, and I can get thermal tape for way less than the price difference between alum and steel.
3. Although I see how some of you are angry at the thread, I don't think his intention was to have a pissing contest. If all these companies truely thought that their products were that superior, then they woun't change their prices a bit. In fact, if there was such a small margin for profit, they couldn't change them at all. They'd have to stop selling them.
I think that we need ALL of these vendors. DSM's parts are for people like me that, although I would rather have iON's 3" turboback, I would never buy it at that price. But that doesn't mean that I don't want to buy exhaust...
It gets frustrating when I see prices that cater to Supra owners more than to someone who bought the cheaper car for a reason.
With that said, I still think that this thread is useless. If prices go down, you've done what you wanted, yay for all of us. But don't throw it in their faces...

I agree DSM products have a purpose, but when he posted he made it seem like he was making the same parts and selling them cheaper. That is just not the case. He is making an affordable line of parts that are not top of the line, but are reasonably priced. This will help some people, and that is great. I just wanted everyone to know the truth that is not skewed by the vendors.
