This is for everybody that has wired up the cooling fans to a switch. Meaning with the ignition off you flip a switch and both cooling fans turn on. This is awsome for keeping consistant at dragracing and autocross alike. Now I did this, this afternoon and when testing found the battery to drain enough in 10mins of use to not be able to start the engine.
I need a stronger battery with more reserve capacity. I made a trip to autozone but the only optima they had was the blue top which was wayy too big for the tray. Does anybody know if they make a Optima battery that will fit our tray but not be too heavy???

I think they recommend the yellow one for imports, and they have some kind of a spacer for it as well. It is too short for our mounting bracket, which is why the spacer is needed. Would simply adding a second battery add too much weight for you? You could always take it out for daily driving...

This car is heavy enough for what it is. I don't like the idea of a second battery. However the yellow top is what I have in the scamp, I measured it and it was like 2- 2 1/2" longer than the stock msp battery. I guess I'll have to put it in there and see..

They make diffrent sizes yellowtops and redtops. Find someone that will order you one. Autozone should be able to order the correct one.
