Mazda Forum Members,
As many of you know, a few months ago I was involved in a rather serious car accident where I was in a temporary coma for four days after. The extent of my injuries were, at the time, just a few broken bones & scarred up legs/arms/etc. I thought I was fine. A few weeks after I get home and start telling everyone I'm okay, I started to develop constant headaches. Anyway, long story short and without diving too much in to what's happened since, I've been through medical hell for the past few months. On top of that, Rachael, the girl that was driving and the one that came on here to tell what was going on had cheated on me while I was in the hospital and used my MSP to drive to the guy's house. Needless to say, it has not been a fun time, at all.

But, I didn't post this to throw a pity party. I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts, wishes, bitching that I'm not here, and just thinking about me. I want to especially thank everyone who threw in some money, despite my hardheaded disagreeing, and helped purchase a electronic boost controller for me. I've *never* been one to feel as part of a group and after the somewhat unsuccessful Texas Mazda meet, I thought I'd give up on being part of the Mazda community other than on this forum. How I was wrong.

If you've been on this forum long enough, you see the lies, the bitching, the hate, the love.. You see it all. This forum basically becomes a second life, like a real time soap opera. The old vets like it there way, the new guys come on and stir up trouble, Matthew bitches about vendors but still gets sponsorships from them (lol2) and so forth. Granted, some of you may not ever get so caught up in this forum as some have and some of you think it's entirely stupid to do so. I did. This forum has been my life. I've been giving it all and I thought it went mostly unnoticed except for by a few select people. I thought it was me vs everyone on here. I thought that everyone on this forum was out for their own. Granted, there's a lot of team work going on here, which is what a forum's about. However, every time shit goes down, everyone's out for themselves and that's what it seemed like was all they cared about. Again, I was wrong.

I have *never* been part of such a caring community. Ever. Think about this. There were hundreds of people that donated money to help me out. I'd say 99% of you have never met me and most never will. All you've seen is the messages I've posted, the flashing wig-wag headlight avatar and my occasional camgirls. Yet each of you showed support and care by sending me either a simple message saying "get well" or you donated for the EBC. There were a few people who weren't even members here that helped out. Where else would you find hundreds of people willing to do that? I know I couldn't even begin to think of where to start.

This community is just that, a community. I didn't get that. I guess being a bitchy, hardheaded moderator kinda took that feeling away from me. I started viewing the forum as less of a team thing and more of a singular "what's wrong" thing. It's extremely easy to do that, especially with the new Mazdaspeed kids. Yet when disaster striked for me, instead of just having my Mom & a girl I thought was a caring friend, I had this whole community on my side. I cannot even begin to express how much that matters to me and what I feel about it.

With the frequent shit talking, arguing, bitching that goes on here, it's easy to forget that we're all here for a purpose. We're all Mada enthusiasts. Whether you want to add neons to your Protege DX or setup a custom supercharge for your Miata or P5, we're all here for one thing... The love of Mazdas. We're all here for that. Despite our differences, we have that ONE thing in common and that ONE thing is why you all helped me out. That's just a priceless feeling that you probably don't understand until you're in my position.

You guys (and the few girls) are amazing. No matter if you donated for the EBC, sent me a message or saw it and just thought about me for a split second, I'm lucky to have you all in my life. Your show of support has helped me make it through this *VERY* frustrating, depressing, never-ending, hellish time. The random messages on AIM, the letters I've received from a few of you, the flowers I had delievered (who did that, by the way?) and just all of the small things that normally go unnoticed have just blown me away. You are the reason I'm determined to not let this shit win and the reason I want to get back out there and drive. It's not that I want it, it's that each of you want it for me. That is amazing.

I thank you all for your dedication, support, and time for this community. No matter if you post once or you're a postwhore like 1sty, you help mold this community and make it a better place for us all. Thank you all.

Anyway, enough about that. I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for your support. It means more than you will probably *ever* know. Be safe out there, guys. You may be a decent driver but in a split second, your driving days could be over; for good. I was lucky to make it out alive after seeing the car. We weren't even racing, we were just driving and we were hit on my side during a turn by a car going around 60 with very little braking beforehand. As much as I didn't believe the doctors and despite the bullshit stories I told people that I was fine.. After seeing that car.. I'm VERY lucky to be here right now typing this. Regardless of what you're doing, racing or driving.. Be careful.

Thanks to everyone,
Clay Higgins (evil)

Clay,

its good to have you back. Don't worry, the TX meet was a success because, after all people did come out to it and we all met each other and it was a damn good time.

Apparently she posted one message at his house. Or at least he said that..

That's drama all of it's own, though. I've known the guy from car meets for a while or well, I've seen him. I didn't really know him personally. However, from talking to him one on one and being respectful, his story checked out much more accurately than hers and it came down to me doing a bit of investigation work on my own while I've been cooped up at home and finding out she was lying and that's why my odometer was way off from pictures I had taken before. Blah!

Thanks for your kind wishes.

Good to have you back man. I dunno whe you are going to be feeling better or when your car will be driveable again, but the Dallas people (LinuxRacr, Pirana, Moeed, Stealth5, and myself) along with RyanJayG are going to have to insist you try to make it to the next TX meet. Check the TX thread.

Last two month I had pretty shitty luck too, so I definatly feel for you. My gf left me, I totaled my parents spare car, then two days later wrecked my car with $8k in damages. Good always does come out of the bad though. I can say with the support of this community and just plain old praying, I came out ahead, way ahead. We are all here for you man. The TX meet was a blast, and I definatly respect you for all you have contributed here, and you taking the TX meet into your hands, I thought it was very successful.

fucking bitch, I'd kill it.

anyways, you know I'm always glad to see you around. Having been through a serious accident myself when I was 19, I can appreciate the pain and agony of going through that crap. 10 years later, I feel a lot better obviously, but still have occassional neck pains ( broke part of my neck in accident, some asshole jumped a stop sign). I hope your health impoves man, best wishes.

mopiko
08-14-2004, 01:38 PM
I don't really know you, but read all about the accident and this... Sometimes, when it rains, it pours, but its time like these that will shape you into a better, stronger person (well, not ncessary physically) I know I can say this because that's what helped me to become who I am... I frunk out of college twice and made some bad mistakes, was living like a bomb and really didn't care about everything until tough time get to me and wack me in the head and say "what the fuck am I doing to myself?"

I'm sure you're not a loser like I was, but view this to shape yourself, you still have a lot more potential, career, family, community like this one. Sometimes all you have to do is let something go, and everything else will fall into place. Well, enough of my blah-ing, good luck with your Speed and your recovery, if you are a guy that believes in praying, I can do that for you, and that's pretty much the only thing I can do for you right now that's within my power... I'm not a doctor so I can't make you recovery faster, I'm not a mechanic so I can't fix your speed, so I hope these word can encourage you just a tiny little bit. :)

To give everyone an update on the 'speed.. The speed was not involved in the accident. Luckily, Rachael's Nissan was. However, when I thought things were getting better a few weeks after I was released from the hospital, I installed the Apexi AVC-R (BADASS, by the way. Thanks!) and went for my first real drive a week or so later. Due to my leg injuries, I had been having a hard time pushing throttle/clutch but the one time I did go out for a major drive (ie: not just around the block), I downshift from 5th to 4th to pass a vechile and I hear a shattering, the car stalls and it wont come out of gear. I coast to the side of the road, mess with the shifter and it still won't come out of gear. I go to push the clutch in and try to shift then and notice the clutch pedal is fully depressed on it's own. I had to reach down, grab it and pull it back out. Not good. I try to start the car and it shakes like *CRAZY*. My silver gauze bezel fell off of the gauges because of the shaking. It ws *violent*. I turned the car off and it wouldn't ever restart after that. This will be my second transmission issue. Good times.

Hey T3ase,

Sorry to hear about all that happened. I haven't been on this site much and haven't been all that involved in the MSP community. I've had my car since December 03, but most of the time between then and now has been spent on graduating from school and then studying for the bar exam.

Anyway, I know how you feel. I was hurt badly by a girl and got into an accident soon after. It was horrible. And if you told me back then that I'd be doing fine 15 months later, I woulda called you crazy. I didn't see how life could possibly go on.

But it did.

You just hang in there. Stay cool and don't do/say anything you'll regret later. Just keep going and stay focused on what's most important: health, family and the MSP. (not necessarily in that order (thumb) )

Take care man.

What a coincidence!!! I have an ex named Rachel. She was a cheating whore of a cunt too... Anyway, good to see ya back, just remember to do what the docs tell ya.
Yanno, I've noticed a weird thing with names.. I've never had a good experience with a Rach(a)el, nor a Doug, or Taren. I dunno.. Weird.

Thank you. It's nice to see someone that hasn't been on the forum as much taking part in the lives ot the older people. 'ppreciate it.

Sheeit, a billion posts, and I have missed so much, so many important things.. so I will momentarily swoop in to say something. Clay! You're one of the bitchenist Mazdabrothers on the forums. Fo' sho'. I remember that one night you DJed on the radio and it was hilarious.

I have always said we're one big family, and while I'm sure that in the eight pages I skipped, a bunch of people have said the same thing, and agreed over and over. Only because it's true. So many times I've considered selling me Mazda for something cheap and blah, and I'm glad I haven't. We are the best car community on the planet.

It's always interesting to find other people from the same place as you. Then I looked at the car again... I havent spoken to you but from what i have read it seems you are a battler you have been delt some seriously bad blows but you will come back to triumph and your car will come back to set some seriously good times on the strip. You are right about this community i am a relatively new member and in the time i have been on this forum i have had the opportunity to talk with some really cool people, see some really cool cars and read some stories like yours that make want to come back to this forum more often and support the cause and learn more about these great cars alot of us are fortunate to own,

I am not lucky enough to have access to the mazdaspeed protege as i lie in australia, but i do have access to the hiboost kit and in a future time my car will be boosting

Anyway i think i can speak for all the australian members, good luck with your recovery and good luck with your car. Yeah that sux dude, I wish you all the best. By the way they're all whores just to what extent is the question, I had to find out the hard way

Hmmm... They are all whores?? You can say most of them are whores, but not all of us. I do anything and everything for my ex fiancee and he left me cause I do too much for him. Because I want to be with him every chance I can, I do what I think are sweet things for him all the time (and he says it gets old), I talk about him continuously and said its too much and left. We are back together now and trying to pick up the pieces. All I know is that I love him so very much and will do whatever I can for him and I just pray everyday he is happy. So please dont sit and think that we all are whores, sluts, bitches, etc, cause we aren't. what the she did just wasnt cool at all and she deserves to get the crap beat out of her too. Yeah I take my mans P5 out (the few times he lets me), but it is because I like to drive it and say "check out my mans car", but NEVER would I do something that down right cold hearted.
"Clay Man", there are some of us that do look good/decent, that are big hearted, loving, caring, and will not do as she did. I know it has been a few months, but I have been busy and havent been on much till lately to even know anything, but like everyone said, focus on YOU and your health and when your okay, then worry about getting the car (if it isn't already) back on the road. I am sorry you had to go through such pain mentally and physically and take care of yourself. STAY STRONG!! (Group hugs for Clay)

Hi Clay, I am newer her, but I have actually been viewing this forum four about two years, I just joined in January of this year, because I started to modify my car more heavily, and I realized that instead of just taking from the sight, I had significant contributions that I could make to this sight, and I could help others like they have helped me. I have to say that this forum is the best forum that I have every seen, it is extraordinary informative. I find that I participate in it more and more, it is very addictive. I am very glad to have you as a moderator and I am hope that your recovery continues. I, like may of us love Mazdas and to have a forum like this is outstanding. I work about 40-50 hours a week (to make $$$ to but car parts), this may not be a lot but I am also a full time senior in college, I cannot wait to graduate in May. Even thought I have a very busy schedule, I always try to make the forum a priority in my life. I have seen the BS on here, but compared to other forums this is nothing. I agree that this is an outstanding community, and I know that it has a great future ahead of it. I hope your recovery continues and I will keep you in my prayers.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
