i was in the left hand turn lane. there was someone in the left hand turn lane on the other side of the intersection as well. i couldnt see around them, so i creeped out a little bit to see if a car was coming. to my surprise there was. and it happened to be a big truck. my shoulder hurts like no other as well as my knee. was on my way to get remote start car alarm installed. GRRRR

Sorry for your car man. I Know this won't make you feel any better but you fucked that truck up! The 3 doesn't look like there is any frame damage but the truck certianly look as though it could have some.
As for your boo-boos, RICE!
R = rest
I = ice
C = compression ( wrap your knee in an Ace bandage)
E = elevation (keep it up when ever possible)
...and if the pain and throbbing are too much, take three (3) 200mg motrin caps

No disrespect, I'm sorry that you totaled your car. I know that's a real bummer......but......that must have been one big "creep" if it put you in the path of a speeding vehicle. If you were gonna put your self in the oncoming traffic lane, you might as well have accelerated through it.

yeah, the truck is actually pretty fubared, which surprises me...
had it been a 4x4(they're about 12" higher in the front) it may not have been the same outcome ;))

ya... it was my mistake. i know that this is 100% my fault, which sucks. my insurance is already $330/month with a perfect record. now i have an accident with a ticket for failure to yield. it's prolly gonna go up to $400+ - less money for mods :(

Holy Crap! 330/month is insane! I am 24 with no tickets in the past 5 years or so and mine is 126/month with Progressive 100/300/100 w/ $100(comp)/$500(coll) deductables. Shop around, even at 19 you should be able to get better than that.

I mean im 22 and wife is 20, have a 2k3 mazdaspeed protege and a 2k4 mazdaspeed miata on insurance, had an evo on there but its sitting at pops house now so no point on paying for it. But im only up to 233 a month threw progressive with FULL coverage (I pay six months at a time 1400) and I have 3 tickets for speeding and im about to drop two tickets off in the next month but still your way higher and I know yours shouldnt be that high. Try shopping around.

Chances are, they are fucked...You might get lucky, I did when I wrecked my car(2 months after buying it, so don't feel too bad). Is the insurance company gonna fix it?
As far as insurance, I have a "not-so-good record";) and after my accident, it went from $165 a month to $185 and now a year later it's down to $175. It really shouldn't go past $400. If it does, look at other insurance companies...You might be better off going somewhere else now before this shows up on your record too...

Holy crap! I've only had my license for 2 years and my premium is 185$ CDN/month (deductible is only 250$) Unless your 2nd car is a ferrari, I think you're getting ripped off big time.

Personally I pay $300/month for liability on my beater car, and full coverage on the P5...

Here, in Austin, TX I'm paying $65 a month for my Mazda, and a '95 Chevy Lumina LS with 24,000 miles on it. I've got full boat coverage on the 3, and state required minimum on the Lumina, been trying to sell it.
Edit: I forgot to add that I'm using Progressive, and I'm a 44 year old Male with a sparkling driving record. No accidents in over 10 years (even those weren't my fault, and happend when my car was parked), and only one speeding ticket in the past 12 years. I also used to be a commercial driver (Taxi Driver).

I dont believe that...
either your insurance company doesnt want to pay for any framework(assuming the frame is damaged) due to liability issues, or its just because the car is so new. From the outside it really doesnt look totalled. Anyways, I hope they are giving you enough for it so you dont still owe money on it(shrug)

Somebody has a value for it somewhere. Generally insurance companies go by average retail value. If they can't find a value because the vehicle is too new, they'll probably go by purchase price with a deduction for depreciation.
Instead of sitting there wondering about it, you could call them and ask. At least then you'd be in the loop. They may even want some information from you about the value.
Don't forget to get your mod parts back.

i have heard of a full replacement within the first 2 years of owning a vehicle but "ever"??? that seems much.. then again u are paying a lot so it may be part of your premium..
