I think my insurance will actually be cheaper if I use a beater for commuting, and put the MSP down as 'pleasure use only'.
So I'm looking for a beater car that will get me to and from work each day. CHEAP. Like around $1K.
If you have or know somebody that has an old car that runs well they're looking to sell, let me know....once I have the info I'll check with my insurance company and see how it would pan out.
Oh BTW -- manual transmission preferred.

Sorry, just gave away a perfect beater....1986 VW Golf.
FWIW I have an '88 323 GTX that can be had for slightly more than $1k. Whan I say slightly I mean $3k more.

Definitely is, but figured why not help out a forum member or one of their friends who needs to unload a car first, rather than some random person on eBay?
Either way, I'm not going to be able to do this until the beginning of Sept....going on vacation next week. Just wanted to get the word out that I'm looking.

well, you bumped a thread that hadn't been touched in over 4 years. Also, this thread isn't in the WTB section. My guess is this thread is from before there even WAS a seperate WTB section... but I digress.
