I got my turbo replaced under warranty a week and a half ago. The dealership I had it done at was Lithia Mazda in Fresno and this is the first MSP they have ever even worked on, so needless to say, it's leaking mad oil. It's running way hot during the day too. The turbo is about 250 miles old now. It reaks too, its burning the oil off and I can see smoke coming out from under the hood. Something tells me, this isnt good.(scratch) So I am taking it 45 miles back to the dealership AGAIN, for the 4th week in a row Monday. I just hope they dont give me shit because I have a CAI now. I put the Injen CAI in thurday but I noticed the oil leak way before so they better not gimme no lip! Wish me Luck!!!

Put the stock airbox back on if you value your sanity.

stock airbox is going back in then. I thought I was one of the lucky ones with an MSP with no issues but as soon as I hit 10k miles I have been to the dealership almost everyweek. I guess its obvious that they messed up somehow with the turbo-intallation and Im sure they'd like to find any reason to get out of free work.

Not really, no redlines or anything. I kept it out of boost until about 100 miles ago, and then I try to just boost a little. Do you think that using boost too much to early could cause an oil leak?

well a couple of things. If it is smoking that can be due to oil getting over engine components and just burning off. In addition when I first purchased my car I had a burning smell emitting from the engine bay for quite some time. Let things break in for a bit longer then make a more calculated analysis. As long as the turbo is ok in boost you'll be fine. :)

Man that blows. Best of luck and definitely go back to stock. In face, if you feel paranoid enough you could always delete this thread...

Check your oil feed line on the top of your turbo...mine started leaking at 14k and it just had to be tightened. It made oil leak all over the whole turbo...I thought the whole turbo was leaking from everywhere.

I second that. Had my turbo replaced a few months ago, and the top oil line has been leaking a little ever since. I've had it in three times now to have it fixed. First time they tightened it, worked for a day. Second time they replaced the oil line, worked till I got home. The third time they took it apart and looked at it, then but it back together. Hasn't leaked in three days. Anyway, best of luck and keep us posted.
