alright, i have the auto meter gauge, and i connected it to the pink w/ blue wire, but it just stays on the far green light. any ideas? do i have to move it to under the hood to get a reading? thanks.

You are better off tapping bye the o2 sensor (under the hood). Make sure you solder the connection..for best results!

no prob.

Just solder directjly into the wire itself. that's what i did!

AKA...strip the pink&blue wire...than solder the a/f guage sensor wire..

I used a wire tap under the hood near the clip and mine works great.

By the way it will go solid green (pretty much) at full throttle.

well, its just staying on the far right, and i disconnected it from the sensor and its still all the way over, is it supposed to be on all the time? i hooked it up to a 12v source but the green light always stays on. thank you so much for your help guys.

there's no need to connect under the hood, something else is messed up

^pcm pinout diagram, make sure you have the correct wires hooked up to the correct places

btw, this is about all it's going to do once you do get it hooked up right (flash)

For what it's worth, I hope you realize that is narrowband, and really doesn't do you any good. You can't tune off that, and it will only tell if your lean or rich, it WILL NOT tell you HOW lean or HOW rich, because you are working with a .1-1v resolution and due to the chemical reaction of the o2 sensor it will only really read right at stoich.

Just as long as you know that.

you dont have a good connection at the pcm. Mess around with it a bit and you will see it move back and forth. Just mess with it a bit.

Just as it states in the Autometer directions, this A/F gauge ONLY works at over 80% throttle.

"When the engine is at heavy load the monitor should indicate rich. At cruising load the monitor will appear to be bouncing back and forth between rich and lean. This is normal. The computer is constantly adjusting the air / fuel ratio for performance and low exhaust emissions. See back page for more detailed information."
During wide open throttle (throttle opening greater than 80% as indicated by the throttle position sensor) the A/F ratio will be forced rich by the PCM for maximum power. During this time the oxygen sensor will output a rich signal/voltage, but the PCM will ignore the signal. The signal will be ignored because it is not accurate for indicating the exact richness. The PCM is now in open loop, and relies on factory programmed maps to calculate what the on time of the fuel injectors should be to provide a rich A/F ratio for maximum power. The A/F ratio meter should indicate rich during this time.

you know - there is a lot of whining about wideband vs normal O2 sensors on this board. Some people dont give a shat about a wideband O2 sensor because they arent going to tune with it - who cares.

once its working its like a dance party in your front seat. (flash)(flash)(flash)

I got it so I could make sure I was rich at 10psi. And the light show is cool.

Possibly, but there shouldn't be. If you just want to see if your are rich or lean. Then a narrowband is fine. If you want to tune, you HAVE to use a wideband, no if and or but about it. That's the facts. Simple as that.

So yes if you just want see if your rich, then a narrowband is just fine and dandy.
