VIS OEM Style Carbon Fiber Hoods Quality

Does anyone have an OEM style VIS carbon fiber hood. I'm thinking about getting one, but I want to know how their fitment is, the weave, and just the general quality of the hoods is. Any input would be great.

I have heard mixed opinions on the fitment of the VIS hoods some say it fit great and some say it didnt fit good at all.

i have a vis, and i would say go with DGM. VIS is 50/50 on quality. my hood looks great, but doenst fit "exactly" right. and there customer service sucks. atleast with DGM if by some small chance the hood is messed up, they will make it right.

mine was $500. it fits perfect and no issues with the weaving. nice hood.

but yes, some are great quality, some are vry bad. depends on how lucky u are

actually since you in cali, you could always try and get one directly from VIS. that way you could see the hood first.

DG is not vented i wish it was tho... and plz if ur gonna get the CF hood get the vented one.. the OEM is just soo ricey

i absolutely LOVE my fiber images hood. I compared it with a vis and the difference is NIGHT and DAY in the weave. The weave is vvery erratic in the vis where as in the fiber images, it is completely straight, no errors at all. Definately worth the money if you care about quality.

I have to agree with B...I had a fiber images hood on my old car and the weave is by far nicer all the other hoods out.

ahhhh... I'm on the fence. I can get a new one for $250 or less, but i don't like wasting money on things that aren't cool the first time. Does the VIS hood have holes for the windshield washer squirters? And do the squirters fit properly?

yes the VIS has holes, and yes they fit properly.

i compared to a integra in ann arbor here. his looked like ass compared to mine. You really cant comparer unless you have them side by side.

I don't see the point of getting a hood without vents? The engine bay is insanly HOT, sure you are getting a hood for looks but with vented you are getting a performance gain to. I'm savings my pennies for a wings west hood, BTW anyone know the best place to get a vented WW hood from for a good price?

have you seen the WW hods in person?my buddy has one on his focus,and it looks cheap as hell.

flaws in material,bolts like to fall out of grill,doesn't have rolled edges,not gaped correctly.


but I do agree with your point on getting a vented VS. OE style
