WEll, my msp was broken into tonight. It was in my church's parking lot and they smashed the passenger side window and tore out my kendwood radio and messed up the center of the dash as well.
Pisses me off.. 2 months ago when I had my P5, my ADR wheels were stolen...
ARRGGGHHH!!!!!
sorry, just had to vent..

That sucks - sorry to hear that. I always pull the faceplate off of my stereo so it won't do anybody any good if they do take it!

Sorry to hear this man. Like i said in the PM, doesnt the MSP come with an alarm? I guess they did it so fast it didnt really matter.. Pretty sad when your car gets broken into in front of CHURCH.

Hmm, not sure what your deductible is, but when that happened to me, nothing was stolen so I had to pay for my window myself. Someone just threw a huge rock covered in mud through my window. They did end up stealing the $3.50 in change I had in my ash tray. :(

ya, my deductible is $500, and i have no idea what the stock radio costs from the dealer... and my center dash piece needs to be replaced, my window, and my stereo..

I have the same deductible, but it wasn;t worth getting the insurance involved and spend 500 on a 200 dollar window.
i don't think they even make the stereos for the MSP anymore...insurance might give you the amount of the cost of the stereo to get a different one.
damn thieves...

That totally sucks. You live too close to JoTech. I've heard rumors that employees are encouraged to steal tuner parts.

Damn, you got a Kendwood radio. Sounds fancy, no wonder it got jacked.
Ah, i'm just messing with you. But seriously, that sucks. Now please, a moment of silence for this guy's kick ass radio... and window.... and 3.50 in change...

Damn man sounds like its a guy thats been doing all the Dallas break ins. They break in the car the exact same way and fuck up the dash and jack only the radio and maybe some small items. I helped my friend replace his dash and stereo. Lemme know if you wanna save a few hundred bucks. The dash is PITA to do by yourself.

Shit, i might look into adding roof-mount sentry turret to my MSP. My radio might be bloody, but at least it wont get any farther than 10' away :D

i can tell you from another members experience that when theirs was stolen, they got an $8XX credit from their insurance company. apparently, the stock msp radio costs over $800 through the dealership. sucks your deductible is so high. my ded. is $50

I was down at the dealer for service and overheard them ordering parts for a MSP. Turns out a local Titanium got jacked. Took his wheels and stereo. Messed up the dash too I would expect.
Fuckin thieves need to be beat!

Same thing happen to mine, but not infront of a church. They broke my bezel and mess up the dash. They also stole my sub and amp. I also bought a bezel on ebay and the silver part doesnt match the rest. I think it was from a p5.

Wow this scares me...I guess I should start removing the face plate. I've only had the car less than two weeks. Does the panel flip back into the dash even without the face plate? If so, the dumbass breaking in wouldn't know until it's too late. I was looking at an MSP here in the Dallas area before I purchased the one I have. The whole-seller told me that he had to purchase new badges, engine cover, wheels, and stereo for it. It had a damaged trim piece below the passenger window, so I'm assuming that it had been stolen and purchased at an auction.

how much freedom are you granted to confront/destroy someone found breaking into your car...
"sorry officer!?! I thought that was a gun in his hand!" type of thing, (no) (gun)

See, at least the pricks that got my radio were a little more courteous. They smashed out the rear quarter panel window (~20 dollars and easy to replace), unlocked the rear door, got in and then unlocked the front door, then did thier work. If I ever met them, I'd have to thank them for not fucking up my other windows.
AND THEN I'D FUCKING SMASH THIER SKULLS INTO THE GROUND.

When you remove the face from the radio it doesn't turn. So you can see it has been removed.

Somebody tried to break into my car one time. Me and my friend (starting quarter back for our school) walked out of Blockbuster and the prick had his arm in the window. There was a rock on the ground, and I was with the starting QB... I guarentee that dudes right shoulder hurt the next morning. That really does suck man. I'd say buy the window from mazda, then hit it with a c/f dash kit and the head unit of your choice (Alpine 9813)

A guy in dc shot and killed some kid who was breaking into his car to go joyriding, and got off innocident.
I thought the radio doesn't work without that little code thing?

i find that hard to believe...I dont see someone getting off scott free after killing, or even non-lethally shooting someone for trying to jaack their shit...they'd say you should have called the cops.
where'd he get the gun from?(dunno)

One of my freinds has a concealed weapon permit. They're not hard to get if you have a clean record.

Get the glass fixed at Mazda. I had an auto glass shop fix a busted window on my Ford Focus and it squeaks when I put it down every time. Horrible.
